Parking at Camelback Mountain
Parking can be such a nightmare, right? We'd love to tell you that your hike will not face confrontation with the scarcity of parking space, but it might! Especially in our crisp winter months from late morning to early afternoon, and all day on the weekends. Here are tips and directions to make your experience a better one.
Parking at Cholla TrailTHERE IS NO PARKING AT THE BASE OF CHOLLA TRAIL.
It's such a drag. Luckily, there's parking right down the road. Cars may be parked on the east and west sides of INVERGORDON ROAD. Walk to Cholla Lane and head west toward the trailhead. Where there are "NO PARKING" signs on Invergordon, cars may not be parked. Pay mind to these signs, tickets are given generously to cars parking in prohibitively marked areas. |
Parking at Echo Canyon Trail
We have more parking! The parking lot at the base of Echo Canyon was recently expanded to accommodate more parked vehicles.
NOTE: If the lot is full, traffic will be directed away and encouraged to try hiking down the street at Cholla or another trail/phoenix-hiking-trails.html. Remember, if the lot is full, there are many hikers up there! It wouldn't be fun to shuffle up a mountain, anyway. NOTE: If traffic continues flowing in a seemingly full lot, cars might be idling at the NO PARKING sign on the west side of the lot. Please be respectful and take your place in this line. These are cars are not parked, they are waiting for the next open space. |
Parking Tips at CamelbackTIP: Ride your bike! You can lock it at a rack right at the trailhead.
TIP: Uber! If you're staying with us in Scottsdale or Phoenix, it is well worth the small fare for the convenience of no parking. Note: passengers cannot be dropped off on Cholla Lane, so you'll still have to do a bit a of walking to the trailhead. TIP: If it's too busy, try another hike in the area. There are many! |
