LA VITA E BELLA – LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL is an Italian drama about a Jewish father who tries to shield his young son from reality when they are sent to a Nazi internment camp.
- Theme
The Holocaust theme is present throughout, with references to people being killed and a young Jewish boy asking his father if 'they make buttons and soap out of us and burn us in ovens'. However, the theme is handled sensitively.
- Threat
There is a scene in which a character is confronted by a pile of skeletons in the fog and another in which women are seen sorting through bundles of clothes after their owners have been killed.
There is occasional use of very mild bad language and sex references.
