Streaming Overview
During 2017, all in-market MLB/NBA/NHL games will be streamed on either NBC Sports Bay Area or NBC Sports California sites on PCs as well as on the NBC Sports app - NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platform for desktops, mobile devices, tablets and connected TVs.
NBC Sports Regional Networks have local media rights partnerships with Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox (CSN Chicago), Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Phillies (CSN Philadelphia), Sacramento Kings, San Jose Sharks and Oakland A’s (NBC Sports California), Portland Trail Blazers (CSN Northwest), Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals (CSN Mid-Atlantic), San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors (NBC Sports Bay Area), Boston Celtics (CSN New England) and the New York Mets (SNY).

Q: Can I stream Oakland Athletics games?
A: If you are a NBC Sports California subscriber via a participating video provider, and reside in an area where you are able to view A’s games on the channel, you will be able to access A’s content made available through NBCS California’s “TV Everywhere” service after going through an authentication process. This offering includes NBCS California’s A’s telecasts and pre-and post-game shows, which can be viewed both on NBCSportsCalifornia.com and via the NBC Sports App (subject to MLB restrictions). If your provider has not yet entered into an agreement with NBCS California to make available TV Everywhere to your provider’s subscribers, you will not be able to authenticate and stream A’s programming. The TV Everywhere offering is available to all NBCS California providers, and NBCS California is working diligently to finalize agreements with its distributors. Please call your participating provider if you are not able to access the TV Everywhere stream of the game.
Q: Can I stream San Francisco Giants games?

Q: What is the NBC Sports app?
A: The NBC Sports app is NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs. The video player allows authenticated subscribers to access streamed coverage of live events and other NBC Sports Group programming wherever they are (subject to territorial restrictions) and on any device, including tablets, mobile phones and computers. The app allows authenticated subscribers of NBCS Bay Area and/or NBCS California to access Warriors, Kings, Giants, A’s and Sharks games as well as pregame and post-game shows on multiple platforms, including those on NBCSBayArea.com and NBCSCalifornia.com.
Q: Is there a cost to download the NBC Sports app?
A: No, the NBC Sports app is free to download. The NBC Sports app streams all games via “TV Everywhere,” giving consumers additional value to their subscription service at no extra cost.
Q: How do I verify/authenticate my video provider account?
A: If you are an NBC Sports Bay Area or NBC Sports California subscriber via a participating video provider, when prompted, select your video provider from the drop-down menu. You will then be asked to enter your username and password for your provider, similar to when you pay your bill online. Don't forget to check "remember me" so you don't have to log in again. If you don't have an online account with your video provider, or can't remember your username and password, please contact your video provider to learn more. If you already have a username and password from your video provider, you will not need to create a new account. If you have not previously registered an account with your video provider, you will need to do so with a valid email address. Please contact your video provider to learn more.

Q: What if I forgot my username and/or password?
A: Most video providers offer a simple way to retrieve or reset your password. Please contact your video provider to learn more.
Q: Why isn't my video provider listed?
A: We are actively working to add additional video providers so that all NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California viewers have access to streaming content. If your provider is not listed, please contact your provider and express your interest in receiving this service. Check back regularly to see if your provider has been added to the list of participating distributors.
Q: Can I access MLB/NBA/NHL games via a connected TV device?
A: Yes. Live streams of MLB/NBA/NHL games on NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California are available via the NBC Sports app on connected TV devices after first authenticating your subscription. The NBC Sports app is powered by Playmaker Media and is available on Apple iOS, Android and select Samsung devices, as well as on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10 and Xbox.
Q: Why am I blacked out?
A: Just as with televised MLB/NBA/NHL games on NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California, availability of games is subject to MLB, NBA, NHL territorial blackout restrictions. In addition, authentication (i.e. confirming that you are a subscriber of one of NBCS participating providers) is required to access NBC Sports App. Please how to verify/authenticate above or send an email a specific questions to support@nbcsports.com
Q: Can I stream MLB/NBA/NHL games while I’m out of town?
A: for NBA & NHL ONLY: Yes. You will be permitted to access NBA and NHL content on PCs as well as on the NBC Sports app when traveling out of your home market, provided you are in the continental U.S.
A: for MLB ONLY: This functionality is currently not available. While you cannot stream out of market, you can stream if you are traveling within the NBC Sports Bay Area Giants territory and NBC Sports California A’s territory.
Q: I didn’t have any (traveling/concurrency/misc. tech) issues with the NBA/NHL – why am I receiving this message for MLB content?
A: MLB content is subjected to a different set of technical and security requirements than NBA / NHL games.
Q: I am at work, in my local market on a desktop computer, but am blacked out?
A: In some instances, such as at work, some networks utilize a shared, out-of-state wireless or internet service provider. In this instance, your desktop is registered as out of state given the internet ISP is based out-of-state. As a result, your desktop will be blacked out, as our games are subject to territory blackouts.

Q: Is NBC Sports Bay Area or NBC Sports California content available without a video provider subscription?
A: Yes, you can continue to www.nbcsportsbayarea.com or www.nbcsportscalifornia.com to access certain event clips, highlights, and expert commentary without a video provider subscription.
