The Lord & Taylor flagship in New York City will become the new headquarters of office space leasing company WeWork, which will buy the 676,000-square-foot building as part of a joint venture. Lord & Taylor will lease back the bottom floors to create a downsized version of its department store.

American Eagle Outfitters will debut a new retail concept called AE Studio in New York City next month. The new store's features will include a Jeans Gallery, free laundry facility for full-time students, a space for capsule collections from emerging designers and artists and fitting rooms equipped with concierge iPads.

Sears stores will stop selling Whirlpool appliances after more than a century, amid a dispute over pricing and a changing retail market, according to a company memo. Whirlpool is the biggest appliance maker in the US, with brands including KitchenAid, Maytag and Jenn-Air.

Amazon has received 238 proposals from municipalities hoping to win its second North American headquarters, the e-commerce giant said Monday. Several locations in Canada and Mexico were among the applicants, which came from 54 districts, provinces, states and territories, and only seven US states did not submit any proposals.

Amazon has expanded its handcrafted site to include gifts in time for the holidays. The Amazon Handmade Gift Shop will include handmade toys, coffee mugs, jewelry and other artisan-made items.

Marks & Spencer will begin providing home loans next year through its financial services arm, M&S Bank. The bank is a joint venture with HSBC Holdings and has grown to 4 million customers since launching in 2012.
