NRA Carry Guard gold members receive up to $1,000,000 of civil protection and $150,000 in criminal defense, with up to 20% of the criminal defense costs available as immediate supplementary payments for expenses. Be wary of any provider that claims to offer full criminal defense funding up front: Not only is this likely unnecessary, but such policies would be void in the event of a conviction. Most criminal defense attorneys will not require payment of final bills until after your case ends—at which time the rest of your criminal defense protection is available if you were acquitted or the case was dismissed.

When we surveyed our options to provide NRA members, gun owners and our own friends and families with the best protection possible, one thing was clear: Individual limits offer the best, most reliable protection available. We wanted to be sure YOUR limits are available to YOU when you need them most, not subject to shared limits with other members.

WHY ARE SHARED LIMITS SO DANGEROUS?

Under a group policy with shared limits, if too many members file claims at once, some of those members could miss out on protection entirely—effectively leaving them to pay for their own defense out of pocket. Since every NRA Carry Guard member receives a policy with their own individual limits, their protection will be there when they need it most.

WHAT DOES “FULLY INSURED” MEAN?

This means that NRA Carry Guard members have a written contract with the insurance company that spells out their exact coverage. Plans that are not fully insured could leave the member subject to funds availability and taking their claim to a committee, which retains final authority on whether or not the claim will be fulfilled.
