Blake Jenner and Melissa Benoist Engaged (Ryder and Marley) — Confirmed!

UPDATE: It's finally official! After five months of playing coy and keeping their relationship details under wraps, Blake Jenner and Melissa Benoist have confirmed that they really are engaged! The co-star lovebirds confirmed the news to E! Online's Marc Malkin on December 8, 2013, months and months after Us Weekly first broke the news of their engagement.

Blake and Melissa confirmed their engagement at the TrevorLive benefit for the Trevor Project. However, don't expect to see them walking down the aisle quite yet. "We've been so busy with work," Blake says said. "We're just excited that it's happening. We're just focusing on work right now so whenever that happens…" A huge congrats to the happy couple!

Original story, July 11, 2013: So... here’s some Glee relationship news we certainly were not expecting. Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Melissa Benoist (Marley) are reportedly engaged, according to Us Weekly. Yeah, like engaged to be married.

It’s worth noting that this is just a report. Both Blake and Melissa’s reps declined to comment on the story, but Us’s source says they’re totally engaged. (Us is also the publication that broke the news of Heather Morris’s pregnancy, so they do have a good track record when it comes to Glee info.) New Finn and New Rachel are going to get married in real life. We’ll just let that sink in for a little bit.

Blake, 20, joined Glee at the start of Season 4 last year after winning Season 2 of The Glee Project. Melissa, 24, also joined the show that same time, but she landed her role without having to go through a reality TV competition first.

When the two met, they were both already in relationships. Blake was dating his high school sweetheart, Maria, whom he often talked about during his time on The Glee Project. Melissa was dating NYC photographer Nick Vorderman, but their relationship didn’t end up surviving the distance.

Both Melissa and Blake are active on Twitter, but they’ve never posted cute couple photos or publicly displayed their relationship. Blake only just confirmed that they were dating back in May, and the announcement caught plenty of Glee fans by surprise.

If the report is true, congrats to the happy couple! Honestly, if we had to guess which co-star couple would get engaged first, our money would’ve been on Lea Michele (Rachel) and Cory Monteith (Finn). Who knows... maybe they’re next? There does seem to be something in the water these days.
