Aiskew & Leeming Bar Parish Council
Welcome to the Parish Website.
Aiskew & Leeming Bar Parish is situated between the County Town of Northallerton and Market Town of Bedale, in North Yorkshire. Both parishes border the A1 as it runs between the two wards. The Parish is made up of two Wards, Aiskew and Leeming Bar. Aiskew has an electorate population of 1,411 and Leeming Bar has 772. Both wards are going through expansion at the moment with numerous new housing developments, this is due to the excellent travel connections, and being so close to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks.
The Wensleydale Railway runs through Aiskew and Leeming Bar and there is a station in both villages. Although the railway is a visitor attraction it is also used by local residents to travel into the Dales, or towards Northallerton.
Aiskew & Leeming Bar has a primary school which is situated on Leeming Lane, Leeming Bar and can accommodate 110 pupils. We also have play parks and numerous open spaces in both villages.
There is a large Industrial Estate in Leeming Bar with mainly food production.
