Himvad Gopalaswamy Betta is covered with mist through out the year . The first part of the name is Himvad meaning mist.
The second part is an ancient temple on top dedicated to Gopalaswamy that is Lord Krishna .
and the third part is contributed by the fact that it is a hill/Betta, which is 2800 feet above sea level. The place is surrounded with a lot of greenery which is very soothing to the eyes.
You can visit this region to see the temple, herds of elephants, and expect a lot of fog.
Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, is a hill (betta in Kannada) located in the Chamarajanagar district of the state of Karnataka, at a height of 1454 m .
It lies in the core area and is the highest peak in the Bandipur National Park .
These regions were a favorite hunting ground for the Mysore Maharajahs and their British guests. The royals have built a guest house on top of the hills and there are some rare pictures of the
Maharajahs and their guests with their prized hunted tiger.
It is approximately 220 km from Bangalore and 75 km from Mysore on the Mysore Ooty road. The hill station is situated 16 km southwest of Gundulpet.
There are two routes leading to the spot. They are Gopalapura - Kumagahalli and Gundi - Vijayapura- Hangala.
Starting from Gundlupet, continue in the same Ooty-Mysore road towards Bandipur.
There is a motorable road all the way to the top of the hill..

Kareri Lake is a high altitude fresh water lake situated at an altitude of 2950 meters above sea level. The lake is surrounded by scenic meadows and Dhauladhars. The glaciers located in the Dhauladhars act as a water source to the lake. The trek is less explored and offers great scenic views of valleys and mountain ranges. The difficulty level of this trek varies from easy to moderate and hence it is suitable for both beginners as well as experienced ones.

Team Justwravel started trekking with the group for Tungnath at 6 in the morning. We witnessed an unexpected change in weather at Tungnath which is 4kms trekking distance from Chopta.
We couldn't continue our trek to Chandrashila, but nevertheless it was all worth it.

Chopta is a roadhead from where we start our trek to "Higgest Shiva temple in the world" Tungnath and further to Chandrashila which is at 4000 mts above sea level.
Chopta is a tiny hill station and a part of Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, which houses green meadows and dense forest. Situated at a height of 2680 meters above the sea level, the place is considered one of the best locations for camping in the state of Uttarakhand.
Trek to Deoriatal starts from Sari village which is close to Ukhimath and is an easy trek.

Parashar lake is a sacred lake located on the top of a hill near Baggi village in Mandi district. The lake is situated at a height of 2730m above sea level and it is dedicated to Sage Parashar. There is a temple situated near the lake and is believed to be built in the 13th century.
The lake houses a floating island which keeps changing its position time to time. With many stories doing the round few believed that it hasn’t shifted for the past three months and with the help of island shifts locals can predict weather conditions and can be prepared for worse.
According to locals, it is said that the water level of the lake has been maintained for centuries now. There is no water source to the lake. The lake is surrounded by snow laden peaks of Himachal Pradesh most of the time of the year. One can have clear views of mighty peaks such as Indrasan, Deo Tibba, etc. It is one of the few weekend treks from Delhi and Chandigarh.
