"...a sought-after
speaker of the progressive school reform movement. He was a
degreed teacher and an outspoken advocate of "free
schools"— schools where children are free to take
charge of their own education. These schools employed
"facilitators" in place of teachers to guide the
children. Facilitators provided materials for the kids to
explore, with full expectations that learning would happen in
each child’s own, unique way. Children were not required to
study anything they weren’t interested in learning, nor were
they given any tests or grades, nor was there any formal
curriculum to follow. Children could choose to learn what they
wanted, when they wanted it, without fear of any punitive
measures. In free schools, kids were encouraged to take
complete control over their education. At first, John Holt
sincerely believed that the only way to improve the school
system (and preserve the rights of children) was to transform
public schools into free schools...to accomplish the goals of
free schools: child-led, interest-based learning. Parents
could "unschool" their children by acting as
learning facilitators at home. All parents had to do
was provide educational materials based on what their
children’s interests were, and either answer questions their
kids had or point them in the right direction to discover the
answers themselves. Unschooling parents didn’t have to
concern themselves with lesson planning, curriculum, testing,
grades—or even teaching..."

"John Holt, disciple of
the apostate Roman Catholic priest, Ivan Illich, [has] taken
part in the work of the Center for Intercultural Documentation
(CIDOC), headquartered in Cuernavaca and Oaxaca, Mexico. The
'Center,' described as a place...devoted to the spiritual
path, raising one's consciousness, transmitting higher
knowledge or promoting universal love and unity....! [Rex
Myles, Brotherhood of Darkness, P 492] was the scene of
meetings during the summer of 1972 between a large group of
Chilean socialists and other Latin Americans, resulting in the
publication of Illich's work "Tools for
Conviviality". The latter was initially published as
Volume 47 of the World Perspectives Series -- edited by Ruth
Nanda Anshen, a prime contributor to the New Consciousness
Education proposal of the International Cooperation Council (ICC).
The ICC proposal was presented to the state of California in
1971. And lest we forget, the ICC was called the Unity -In -
diversity Council-- our Famous Aquarian Cabal! And further,
the Editorial Board of World Perspectives, includes: Illich;
Lord Kenneth Clark; Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan of the Temple of
Understanding and WORLD BROTHERHOOD; and Jesuit, Karl Rahner....
[Ibid] But , the story does not end there. Illich was also the
author of "De-Schooling Society", which philosophy
John Holt wholeheartedly endorsed and means literally the
abolishment of ALL schools as they now exist!"

"...the Scaife
Foundation had financed a New York City outpost for the
paleoconservative Rockford Institute, under the leadership of
neoconservative Lutheran minister Richard John Neuhaus. While
Neuhaus' Center for Religion and Society attracted corporate
foundation grants denied to the parent Rockford Institute,
Neuhaus, himself made no secret of his anger over Rockford's
publication...of articles denouncing the promotion by
neoconservatives of "democratic globalism," plus
what Neuhaus described as the Rockford editors'
"anti-Semitic and nativist tendencies." In a
watershed May 1989 incident, reported on the front page of the
New York Times, Rockford executives finally flew from
Illinois to New York where they locked down Neuhaus' Manhattan
office, carted away furniture, and left Neuhaus with his
personal belongings waiting for a taxi cab on Madison
Avenue."

Charles Colson and Fr.
Richard John Neuhaus (Lutheran who converted to

President Nixon’s Economic Conference on Far Eastern Affairs
and President Reagan’s transition team; senior adviser to
the Reagan-Bush 1980 and 1984 campaigns, adviser to the
Bush-Quayle 1988 campaign, and a charter member of President
Bush’s Republican Presidential Task Force; fluent in

Corporation and the Brother International Corporation. He is
currently chairman of Concept Communications, Inc. and
Rockingham Venture, Inc. and a director of Nostalgia
Television, Potomac Video, Inc., Newslink, Inc., and Pyramid
Video, Inc.
Hugel was in charge of the
largest directorate in the Central Intelligence Agency, the
branch responsible for covert action and clandestine
counterintelligence overseas. NEW YORK TIMES, JULY 15, 1981;
He was forced to resign amid charges that he had participated
in fraudulent securities transactions when he managed an
electronics business in the 1970's. 22
Max Hugel (11 May-1 July 1981): Having joined CIA in
January 1981, and served (as noted above) as DDA from February
to May 1981, Hugel was then appointed DDO by DCI Casey. After
a series of press reports of alleged improper stock-trading
practices, Hugel resigned from CIA on 1 July 1981. Hugel
subsequently won a libel judgment against the individuals who
had made the accusations against him. 23
Hugel was also a supporter
of the contras. Shortly after the death of William
Casey (CFR), Hugel worked with Casey's wife, Sofia, in
organizing a fund raising dinner in which 50 percent of the
monies went to cancer research, and the other 50 percent, to
the "Freedom Fighters Fund" set up by Casey's widow
to continue "private" support to
counterrevolutionary groups around the world.
In 1990 the Washington Post
exposed dealings between Max Hugel and Jonathan Park, the son
of Bo Hi Pak who is President of Moon-owned The Washington
Times Foundation. Park, as a colonel, was an attaché to the
Korean embassy. Max Hugel and Park, using Unification money,
were pursuing forming a conglomerate of all the independent
broadcasting facilities in the entire Washington D.C. region.
As of 1990, closing on a deal to purchase a majority stake in
Potomac Television communications, the largest independent
broadcast news service in Washington, the company's operations
were combined with two video news firms already owned by Park
and Hugel. Park and Hugel then controlled all but one
independent broadcasting facility, including the satellite and
the independent broadcasting facility in the National Press
Building, and supplying as many as 200 television stations
around the nation, including CNN, with raw footage or finished
film reports on newsworthy events or interviews with prominent
officials in Washington.
Newslink and Pyramid, the
two companies owned by Park and Hugel, primarily sell
technical services and facilities to foreign and domestic
broadcasters. Hugel's Newslink, for example, supplies all of
the film crews to Cable News Network's Washington bureau, but
it also has a small editorial operation. And Pyramid, which
Park purchased out of bankruptcy court last summer, provides
equipment to the bureaus of foreign broadcasters located in
the National Press Club building, where Pyramid has an
exclusive satellite lease.
Pyramid, Newslink and
Potomac will be folded into a holding company headed by Park,
Concept Communications, according to Potomac's founder Bruce
Finland. Combined, the three video firms had revenue of $12
million last year, $7 million of which came from Potomac, he
said. 24 Footnotes

Herbert
William Hunt- CNP Board of
Governors 1982, member 1984, 1988, 1996; President, Hunt
Energy Corp.; Advisor to Management, Petro-Hunt, LLC; Brother
to Nelson Bunker Hunt. In 1981, Herbert
William and Nelson Bunker Hunt provided the start-up money for
the Council for National Policy.
The Coalition for Peace
Through Strength, an arm of the American Security Council,
brought together various groups for political lobbying. Some
of the groups included were, Heritage Groups Council for
Citizenship Education : "A subsidiary of the pro-Nazi
German American National Congress [DANK], the council is
headed by Karol Sitko...Sitko was also the organizer for the
West German branch of the Western Goals Foundation, a
far-right political organizing and research group which, until
the death of its founder, Congressman
Larry
McDonald , was
essentially a front for the John Birch Society's private
intelligence network. In Germany, Sitko organized rallies in
Nuremberg and Hanover drawing 240,000 people. He was supported
by billionaire H.L. Hunt and
General John Singlaub. His
activities were conducted in concert with the Anti-Bolshevik
Block of Nations.
Conservatives Against
Liberal Legislation: Renamed Conservative Alliance (CALL),
this group was organized by the late Terry Dolan's National
Conservative Political Action Committee (NCPAC is also in the Coalition
for Peace Through Strength)26
.
CALL has received major funding through groups affiliated with
Rev. Sun Myung Moon, according to the Wall Street Journal and
other reports. CALL started the National Coalition for
America's Survival, which includes the newly-reincarnated
America First Committee...One of the three groups in the
Coalition headed by Lady Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton, who is also
on the board of the American Security Council Foundation. Her
deceased husband, part of the British aristocracy, was the
brother of Rudolph Hess when, in 1940, Hess made his secret
flight to England. Hess, a top aide to Hitler and Nazi Party
official, sought to meet with the British aristocratic circles
known as the Cliveden Set. Sympathetic to Hitler's war aims,
the Cliveden Set tried to get England out of the war it had
declared against Germany in September 1939, after Germany
invaded Poland. Hess was arrested and imprisoned. After Lord
Douglas came to the U.S., he established an American branch of
a racial eugenics group headquartered in Scotland. The oil
billionaire Hunt brothers and Jesse Helms are members of
this group. It was headed by Robert Gayre, who published the
racialist Mankind Quarterly until Roger Pearson took it over in 1978.

"Percy Foreman, high profile
attorney that represented Charles Harrelson, a hired assassin
convicted of killing a federal judge in San Antonio with a
high-powered rifle, ...In 1975, Foreman was indicted by a
federal grand jury for obstruction of justice. Also
indicted in this case were Nelson Bunker Hunt and W. Herbert
Hunt, the sons of the Dallas oil man H. L. Hunt. The
grand jury charged that the Hunt brothers paid the attorney
$100,000 to insure that Foreman’s clients (Rothermel &
Curington) would not testify against them. The two men,
allegedly employed by the Hunts to conduct illegal wiretaps,
were offered money by Foreman to accept a jail term rather
than testify the principals involved in the case.
Naturally, the distinguished attorney never told his clients
that he was really working for the Hunts.
As the trial was about to
begin, Foreman claimed that he was too ill to continue.
After Senator James O. Eastland made several inquiries
with the Justice Department, the defendants, including Nelson
Hunt, were allowed to plead no contest to a lesser charge and
pay a fine. The New York Times reported that great
political pressure was brought in Washington to keep the Hunts
from going to trial, and that Eastland, the chairman of the
Senate Judiciary Committee, had denied that he had received
$50,000 from the Hunts for his lobbying efforts." 28 Footnotes26-28

Liberation Front (CWLF) as a covert front for Campus Crusade,
which split off and became a leading ministry in the Jesus
People movement.[ See: Pat

Nelson Bunker Hunt arranged a retreat for
more than 500 millionaires who pledged $20 to Campus Crusade.
He once organized a paramilitary force called "Americans

style-- against political opponents.

Bill Bright persuaded Nelson Bunker Hunt to underwrite the $6
million cost to produce the 'Jesus' movie in the 1970s.
31
"Hunt, whose Birch
Society background is documented by Conway and Siegelman in Holy
Terror, also made a contribution of $1 million to the
Moral Majority in 1981, according to Perry Dean Young." [Ominous
Politics] Donated $10 million to
Pat Robertson's
Christian Broadcasters Network in 1970. 32
Nelson Bunker Hunt is said
to have partially underwritten the cost of an anti-Kennedy
newspaper advertisement that appeared in the Dallas Morning
News the day of the assassination. Hunt's oil profits were
said to be threatened by Kennedy's announced plans to end the
oil depletion allowance. A note written by Lee Harvey Oswald
addressed to "Mr. Hunt" has raised speculation as to
whether it was intended for the oil tycoon, one of his sons,
or the CIA agent E. Howard Hunt. 33
In
1967, Nelson Bunker Hunt provided Cameron
Townsend, founder of the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL)
and the Wycliffe Bible Translators, property
in Dallas for a new international translation center. Thy
Will Be Done, by Gerard Colby and Charlotte Dennett,
documents the business and political connections between
Wycliffe Bible Translators, the Rockefeller family, and the
CIA. The result of the dealings was the genocide of indigenous
tribes in the Amazon basin, although Cam Townsend denied the
deaths.
Hunt also funded Ed
McAteer,
"the Colgate-Palmolive salesman who was the organizing
force behind the politicized Fundamentalist movement... The
sheer human energy amassed by wealthy SIL backers like North
Carolina's James A. Jones, one of the largest contractors for
military bases in Vietnam, and oilman Nelson Bunker Hunt of
Texas. 'Bunker Hunt had helped me considerable,' McAteer
freely offered...Wycliffe Associates' '500 Club' was designed
to offer the richer members a way out of service through cash;
$500 or more each year was all it took to get a special
certificate of membership. Some gave much more. Texas's
corporate leaders were prominent in helping Cam build SIL's
International Linguistics Center near Dallas; the Linguistics
Center's board meeting was one of those special occasions
where a Rockefeller business partner like Trammel Crow could
rub shoulders with an ultra rightist like Nelson Bunker Hunt.
But they were the old core of supporters."

Nelson
Bunker Hunt funded the "STEP Program and
Foundation"... the result of a meeting of some 200
...wealthy and powerful evangelical, religious, political and
business leaders... 76. held on Dallas, Texas April 21st and
22nd 1982, at the behest of multimillionaires Clint Murchison,
Jr. and Nelson Bunker Hunt! STEP, an acronym for
"Strategies to Eliminate Poverty" was ...formed to
alleviate poverty through private sector funding and
volunteerism...! According to the Christian Inquirer,
Nelson Bunker Hunt "kicked off" the STEP Program in
November of 1981, with a $1 million contribution. It is most
interesting to note that among
Those attending the April 1982 meeting in Dallas, besides the
previously mentioned Dr
William Bill Bright, Murchison, and
Hunt, were: Dallas Cowboy Coach Tom
Landry, Television evangelists Jim Baker, [and CNP's]
James

Hunt is also a member of the
Military
and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, a
racist "brotherhood" modeled after the Hospitallers.
"Its international membership is consisting of
Roman-catholic, Anglican, Protestant, Orthodox, United, Old
Catholic, New Apostolic and other Christians" 36
The Order of Saint Lazarus
has been linked to Lady Malcolm Douglas Hamilton. Lord
Hamilton was the host to Rudolph Hess, Hitler's second in
command, when - in 1940 - Hess made his secret flight to
England. Hess was seeking to meet with the British
aristocratic circle known as the "Cliveden Set." 37
Percy Foreman, high profile
attorney that represented Charles Harrelson, a hired assassin
convicted of killing a federal judge in San Antonio with a
high-powered rifle, ...In 1975, Foreman was indicted by a
federal grand jury for obstruction of justice. Also
indicted in this case were Nelson Bunker Hunt and W. Herbert
Hunt, the sons of the Dallas oil man H. L. Hunt. The
grand jury charged that the Hunt brothers paid the attorney
$100,000 to insure that Foreman’s clients (Rothermel &
Curington) would not testify against them. The two men,
allegedly employed by the Hunt to conduct illegal wiretaps,
were offered money by Foreman to accept a jail term rather
than testify the principals involved in the case.
$50,000 from the Hunts for his lobbying efforts.38
"...the White House
brought together a coalition of "retired" military
men and right-wing millionaires to support the "Nicaragua
Freedom Fund," chaired by Wall Street investment
executive William Simon. Contributors included familiar
right-wing figures like TV evangelist Pat Robertson, Colorado
beer baron Joseph Coors, oil magnate Nelson Bunker Hunt,
singer Pat Boone, and Soldier of Fortune magazine. The Fund
claimed to raise over $20 million through activities such as a
$250-a-plate "Nicaraguan refugee" dinner in April
1985 attended by Casey and Simon and featuring a speech by
Reagan. In reality, the Fund was a propaganda front, spending
almost as much money as it raised. An audit of the
"refugee dinner" showed it had raised $219,525 but
costs totaled $218,376, including $116,938 in "consulting
fees."
"The main purpose of
the Nicaraguan Freedom Fund was to divert attention from the
covert channels through which real money flowed to the contras
in violation of the Boland Amendment. One of those channels
was a specialized PR firm, International Business
Communications, which pleaded guilty in 1987 to fraud by using
a tax-exempt foundation to raise funds to arm the contras. It
had been a profitable business, according to the Iran/Contra
congressional investigating committee, which concluded that
IBC had kept about $1.7 million of the $5 million it channeled
to the contras. 39 Footnotes
