Hey Robert, a post dealing with different academic disciplines and their relations to Critical Race Theory, rhetoric, etc, would be good.

Anthropologists, historians, political scientists, and other serious scholars don’t buy this crap. The most reasonable, open-minded, and scientific professors I’ve known, even radical non-white ones, have fallen into one of the above categories.

Most of this CRT nonsense comes from Sociology, Literature courses, African American/Chicano studies, psychology, and Law (Derrick Bell is a law professor).

Basically, when I hear a classmate mention that he/she’s a sociology major, I lose a little respect for that person.

    • Psychology is pretty good.

Anthropology, especially cultural anthropology, which I worked in (I worked as a cultural anthropologist) has gone insanely PC. It’s really terrible.

    • Bay Area Guy

      I don’t know about that.

I still have a high level of respect for anthros. Both Thad (yes, I know you don’t like him) and a reasonable Hispanic anti-racist professor I took in college are both anthros.

      Psychology, eh.

Ank Mie received a BA in psych and an MA in sociology.

That explains all you need to know about her there, such as her habit of coming up with cute psychological terms to smear her opponents, and her CRT nonsense.

I’m afraid the likes of her give me a negative view of psychology! Quick, someone redeem this academic discipline!

      • nobody

“I’m afraid the likes of her give me a negative view of psychology! Quick, someone redeem this academic discipline!”
If you don’t like psych then you don’t like it, but evolutionary psych is about as un-pc as it gets.

      • Gay State Girl

Psychologists are the spawn of Satan. My whole life I was led to believe I was sick when I wasn’t. Now everyone is getting labelled with multiple diagnoses and put on psychotrophic drugs that are more dangerous than heroin.

        • Wade in MO

Tom Cruise called. He wants his argument back. (joke)

        • Gay State Girl

I am not a scientologist but I have been forced on enough dangerous drugs in my lifetime to have respect for his argument. Methylphenidate increased my anxiety level, Tenex drained me of any energy and caused me to pass out, Abilify destroyed my liver, Lamictal burned out my eyes, and the others were all expensive and had no effect. The FDA is corrupt and will not do proper investigations of the dangerous side effects of these drugs.

        • Wade in MO

          It was a joke.

          ” Abilify destroyed my liver”

I was on a small dose of abilify for a few years along with different types of anti-depressants. I was briefly on the anti-depressant Topamax. It mad me so paranoid that I actually had to have my dad drive me to college a couple of days becasue I was so afraid of getting into an accident. Once there I was scared shitless of bumping into people and getting in fights. I couln’t get to sleep at nights because I would stay in bed as much as I could because I was so scared confrontation. I actually dug my mother waling track out of the basement because I was so scared of walking around the block. I kept thinking that if my foot hit a rock while walking it would pop up an break someone’s windshield. I’ve always been a very non-confrontational person, but this stuff just multiplied that to an extreme level. I got off it after a few weeks. I wish I would have quit the drugs altogether then. For some people I think they’re needed, but not for most. I don’t think psychiatry is a sham science. I just think drugs are over perscribed some times. The same thing happens with medicines non-psycholoigcal drugs for ‘common’ illnesses like the flu all the time. I’ve had doctors perscribe me amoxicillan ove the phone before. I actually did have sinus infections, but I thought that was still weird.

“Psychologists are the spawn of Satan”

I think what you mean here is that psychiatrists are the spawn of satan. Psychologists can’t perscribe drugs like psychiatrists. There are many people who have psychology PhDs who perform legitimate research like studing how the brain works and never even touch drugs. Even psychiatrists can be alright if they don’t abuse their ability to write perscriptions. Just because psychological drugs are abused doesn’t mean that they’re all bad. The same thing could be said for guns.

        • Gay State Girl

Psychologists and Psychiatrists are essentially the same thing. They both delude many people into thinking they have genetic defects that cause them to behave the way they do rather than their situation and their environment. Psychologists didn’t perscribe me with medication but they led me to believe that I needed them. I had a traumatic birth that led to a mild form of autism in my childhood, which I’ve mostly overcome since then. I still have a few things that I have trouble with but I learned more about social skills on my own than I could with a social pragmatist. As a child, I had affluent parents who misguidedly put me in every conceivable form of therapy, naively believing it could help me. I attended an elementary school with a strong inclusion policy. We had students with all sorts of abilities. There were children with mild to moderate learning problems, more severe developemental delays, students who were leaning English as a secong language and inner city minority students who were bused in to our affluent school district but I was the only one with mild autism so I was often sent to therapy sessions with retarded children so I felt that I was being identified with them. I was always placed in the lowest level reading and math groups despite being proficient at reading and above average at math. I begun to resent going to therapy with retarded children and skipping the therapy sessions so they labelled my behavior BP and mentally ill and forced me to go to therapy sessions with other BPs from whom I learned to swear and talk ghetto trash and imitated them. So I was sent to all kinds of therapists who led me to believe I had a genetic defect that made me act this way rather than the hospital’s negligence and my situation. Whenever I did something wrong, I was excused for it based on my BP diagonis. I swear would have rather been punished than had it ingrained in my head that I have a disorder that made me behave this way.

        • Wade in MO

“Psychologists and Psychiatrists are essentially the same thing.”

I disagree. Maybe PRACTICING psychologists and psychiatrists are similar, but I’m talking about psychologists in the academic area who study things like the acquisition of language and other areas.

“Psychologists didn’t perscribe me with medication but they led me to believe that I needed them.”

Yes, many psychologists and psychiatrists are bad, but that doesn’t make them all bad and it doesn’t make the entire field rotten. Some people actually have real problems that may need treatment and maybe drugs. I don’t believe someone with severe schozophrenia is going to be helped much by enviromental changes. I think much of this problem has to do with drug companies and a general attitude that a pill can cure anything. Drug companies of course will pay off doctors by giving them free shit to perscribe their drugs. I have a sister who is a pharmacist and you would be surprised at some of the things she got when she would go to conferences while she worked at retailers. Also, I believe that the USA is the only country in the world where you can advertise drugs on TV and print like any other consumer good. Your doctor may have told you that you needed drugs, but I’m sure that there are many more who come to him already convinced by commercials and demanding drugs.

The feminist movement has also had a huge effect on the persribing of Ritalin. Apparently every young boy who isn’t totally passive and emasculated is a wifebeater in the making who needs tons of Ritalin to keep him contained.

        • Gay State Girl

“but I’m talking about psychologists in the academic area who study things like the acquisition of language and other areas.”

They can study whatever they want (without government funding or grants) but it is a waste of money along with many other invented academic fields.

I understand that there are some people who are truly mentally ill and need medication, (My dad had a cousin who was Schizophrenic and lived many years under the delusion that he was Mick Jagger) 🙂 but the vast majority who are perscribed with medication would do better if they had help to change their lifestyle and were treated with more respect and dignity. The majority of people who are diagnosed as Bipolar, Depression, Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders or ADHD have been affected by tough life situations. There is no scientific proof that these disorders are biological rather than purely situational or environmental.

I just want the FDA to do a more thorough investigation into these drugs and the unanticipated effects they’ve had on people.

        • Wade in MO

“They can study whatever they want (without government funding or grants) but it is a waste of money along with many other invented academic fields.”

Nonsense. What other fields do you think are “invented”? I have a feeling it is all that have findings that don’t agree with your views. (I’m talking about sciences where there are some type of experiments being done. Not critical race theory or anything like that.) Also, what wrong with a field being “invented.” All fields, even the harder sciences, were “invented” at some time or another.

        • Gay State Girl

It’s a emotional issue with me, one that hits close to home so I’m justified in being irrational and biased against the field of psychology. I do not want to fund the study of psychology because I was traumatized at a young age. Though I promise you if I ever find myself in a position of power, I would recognize that I have certain biases and I would ask advice from others before making decisions.

Overall, we are spending way too much on liberal arts and there is no real return on investment in these fields. I’m not saying that I don’t value them, but 60% of Chinese university students major in hard sciences and are more familiar with economic concepts than students in the West.

        • Wade in MO

“Overall, we are spending way too much on liberal arts and there is no real return on investment in these fields.”

I wouldn’t call psychology a ‘liberal art’ but rather social science. I also disagree that anything that is not profitable is not worth funding.

” I’m not saying that I don’t value them, but 60% of Chinese university students major in hard sciences and are more familiar with economic concepts than students in the West.”

Yeah, I agree that we need more people to study science at a higher level, but I don’t agree that that is all that needs to be studied. Imagine if Dostoyevsky or Kafka had instead gone into engineering. It would have been a huge cultural loss for mankind. However, considering the state of arts and their garbage ideological biases, I wouldn’t mind seeing many modern “artists” go instead into engineering (or, *gasp* factory work). Even better, the army. I would love to see some of the pompousasses being bossed around by a guy who barely graduated high school.

        • Gay State Girl

“I wouldn’t call psychology a ‘liberal art’ but rather social science. I also disagree that anything that is not profitable is not worth funding.”

Humanities and Social Sciences fall in the category of Liberal Arts at most American Universities. I never said that the Arts shouldn’t be funded but emphasize should be placed on effective communication skills rather than just literature; students should get a firm grasp of grammar and diction and a strong understanding of how the media, the business world, and the government operate. Develop strong skills in math, science and technology literacy starting in from preschool onward and offer vocational training so these professions get more respect in society.

“Even better, the army. I would love to see some of the pompousasses being bossed around by a guy who barely graduated high school.”

Now wouldn’t that be a sight. I would love to see a Harvard student scrubbing a toilet in an army barrack.
They could join the army in the hope that the government would pay off their loans for their multiple BS degrees.

Its true but people can develop literary and artistic works on their own without government funding.

      • Gay State Girl

An illegal immigrant with an IQ of 85 who is skilled at a particular trade is more valuable to society than someone with a PHD in Psychology or Sociology from an Ivy League university who will probably go broke and expect their family to pay off their loans. Psychs have become the polar opposite of what they originally sought out to be, as they are always categorizing people and putting them in boxes and essentially determining their future based on those categorizations. And they get government grants to conduct their BS research. I think I will do a graduate degree in psychology, just so I can write my thesis on how it has become an abusive field.

    • Bay Area Guy

And of course, I have the highest respect for historians.

      No bias involved there! 😉

      • LaFleur

I find it hard to believe that a woman so incapable of questioning her own assumptions has an MA in anything. I wonder what school she went to.

        To Robert:

Replacing the old Open Topic and Post Suggestions on top with the new ones is probably a good idea. Not everyone will see them beneath the archives.

      • Bay Area Guy

Yeah, MA in SOCIOLOGY. That explains everything right there.

Now if someone with an MA in history or political science were so intellectually deformed, that would indeed be problematic.

      • Gay State Girl

The theatre majors are no doubt the most agenda driven. I have high regard for historians, though have their own biases and grade their students based on their opinions rather than the substance whether they’re at UCal Berkley or Bob Jones University. I do question how much should be spend on those departments rather than funding for other programs. Natural and Health Sciences, Engineering and Computer Science, and Business related professions, are very well funded but many underrated fields such as Agriculture are very underfunded.

I think Robert should do a post on what he stands for on issues.

I thought he was essentially a Trotskyite Neocon apart from there support for Israel, supporting socialist governments and immigration into the US although I think the Neocons are becoming anti-immigration.

    I’m I wrong?

  4. Patrick

Can you do a post about Cuba and Castro? Maybe on the historical events of the Cuban evolution and how Castro took over… or maybe just on Cuba in general. Cuba has an unemployment rate of approximately 1 percent and America is almost at 10 percent unemployment. Cuba also has the second highest literacy rate in the world:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_literacy_rate
And if you look at the list you will notice a lot of those ex-communist eastern european countries at the top of the list. Those countries the dumbed down capitalist west just loves to demonize as being evil.

Why not create a post explaining why so many Whites although having a low opinion of Blacks often hire black nannies to spend whole days watching their kids? I would honestly love to hear the rationale behind this.

Whenever I see this, I just don’t get it. If Whites think so little of us, why trust us with your children or have your child influenced by one of us all day long? It often makes me feel like deep down Whites know there’s really nothing inherently terrible about Blacks in general. And if that is true, not extending this trust to better working opportunities just seems unfair and disingenuous.

    • Bay Area Guy

Why not create a post explaining why so many Whites although having a low opinion of Blacks often hire black nannies to spend whole days watching their kids? I

Well, never having seen a black nanny in my life, I wouldn’t know anything about this. I went to a daycare center when I was little.

But I guess I shouldn’t speak for all whites.

    • randy

it’s probably because blacks will accept lower wages.

i dated a black girl who was a nanny. she was illegally in this country, she was born in guyana. so she didn’t have a lot of options for employment.

she is great with kids. i wish she was still with me. i think it was too hard for a black girl to trust a white man.

    • randy

i must admit that i’m hot for nannies, and without a girlfriend right now. if you’re in nyc, and single, email me.

do a post on the iPad cuz its so cool. do a post on the Klan and David Duke. do a post on Islam in Europe, and atheism and God. Do a post on the ramifications of the white genocide in South Africa.

  7. AJ

do a post on the rise of the far-right in Europe, and the EDL. do a post on South Africa and Zimbabwe. do a post on gay marriage.

  8. johnUK

It would be good if you did a post on US using Depleted Uranium especially in Iraq and Agent Orange in Vietnam and there aftermath with deformed babies being born.

  9. I don’t mind them too much, but too many of them indicates a huge population of illegal or poorly assimilated immigrants.

  10. LaFleur

It is not much to look at – a small pitted brass coin with a square hole in the centre – but this relatively innocuous piece of metal is revolutionising our understanding of early East African history, and recasting China’s more contemporary role in the region.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-11531398

While the evidence is still not conclusive, it undermines Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama’s claim to have been the first international trader to open up East Africa.

He arrived in 1499 on an expedition to find a sea route to Asia, and launched more than 450 years of colonial domination by European maritime powers.

“We’re discovering that the Chinese had a very different approach from the Europeans to East Africa,” said Herman Kiriama, the lead archaeologist from the National Museums of Kenya.

“Because they came with gifts from the emperor, it shows they saw us as equals. It shows that Kenya was already a dynamic trading power with strong links to the outside world long before the Portuguese arrived,” he said.

  11. AJ

Robert, do a post on The Solutrean Hypothesis. This is a theory that is being pushed by Stromfront and the White Nationalists that white people were the real Native Americans who were later slaughtered by Asiatic hoardes. I would love to hear your take on this.

    • johnUK

Yes I would link to see a post on that to.

Apparently Discovery Channel and Channel 4 here in Britain in a joint project produced a documentary series called Ice Age Columbus on this very issue.

Links are in the description tab of this video

  12. AJ

hey robert, since your a california resident, why dont you do a post on Proposition 19? do you support it? are you against marijuana legalization?

  13. AJ

Yeah, i thought so. Im pretty excited about it. How likely is it, though? I keep hearing different predictions about wether it will go through or not. Also, do you think it will have a domino effect?

    • It’s going to fail.

I’m not so ideological on pot these days because I am starting to worry that it’s a lot worse for you than we ever thought 30 years ago. But there must be some no-effect level where use is so occasional that it won’t hurt you. But that’s just for me. I only care about my own brain. Other people can do what they want to.

I haven’t smoked it in about a year or so.

      • nobody

It hampers some kinds of personal development, if nothing else. That’s been my experience and what I’ve observed in others, at least. But a lot of people who become heavy stoners had problems in the first place and are self-medicating, so it’s hard to tease out the exact nature of the relationship.

I think one of the worst things about the War on Drugs is that it’s severely hampered research into the effects of illegal drugs.

        • It hampers some kinds of personal development, if nothing else.

Only in the young, especially adolescent and young adult males. In older people, I don’t see any such problems. Although I think it leads to a “closed-mindedness” in older stoners. Older stoners seem to do quite well. You would be amazed at how well they function. Pretty incredible actually. These are guys in their 30’s and 40’s.

  14. AJ

why do you think it will fail? it seems many californians are pretty optimistic.

  15. AJ

I have been watching them. They are all over the map. We dont really know which way it will go.

  16. AJ

heres another post suggestion- Hong Kong and Singapore. These are rated by the Heritage Foundation as having the most economic freedom. Hong Kong was a British colony, and their philosophy was laize fairre. Hong Kong doesnt even have minimum wage! Yet it is an economic powerhouse, and the people have a high standard of living. Far from socialist. Please explain the right-wing success story of Hong Kong, Robert Lindsay.

  17. AJ

hey Robert Lindsay, you never actually make any posts based on these suggestions. Why even have this up? gay

  18. It’s true.

This was not my idea. The readers suggested that I put up a page called post suggestions. So I put one up LOL. Here it is, make all the post suggestions you want LOL. I’ll get to them right away LOL.

Actually I do incorporate these suggestions into my posts, and I keep them in mind when posting reposts from the old site in particular. I simply don’t have enough time to get to all this stuff. I don’t make one fuckin nickel off this site anyway. But I read all post suggestions and keep them in mind for what the readers are generally interested in reading.

Why even have this up? gay

It’s true, I’ve become one of teh geyz LOL.

  19. write a post on “dancers” robert. The type of men who visit them, the type of men who fall in love, men who like dancers who aren’t cookie cutter etc..

  20. randy

Lyndon LaRouche. I am a bit too young to know much about him, you might know a lot more about him.

    • randy

jesus christ, reading the wiki article about him now. just WOW…i see his party members in NYC still, in the subway and out on the street. i am intrigued.

      • johnUK

        @randy

I wouldn’t trust Wikipedia as it will be notoriously biased against him although I have not read it to comment on its content.

He was a US soldier stationed in India during WW2 in Bengal when the British engineered a famine in the region.

Although he does focus on the fascism aspect to much for my liking and Hitler what he says about Britain’s leading role directing the NWO historically and now is absolutely true.

Who ran the opium trade and slave trade, supported the Confederacy, owns the major companies like BP, Carlyle Group, etc, think tanks, runs and supports international Islamic terrorism and its base including 9/11?

        Britain.

You should actually research this which even I didn’t know about the connections to Britain although I knew they were heavenly involved assuming like the Oligarchs in Russia they were just Israeli/US front men especially Islamic terrorism targeted towards the US like Abu Qatada who is a member of Bin Ladings Islamic counsel and indicated in US Embassy bombings, Millennium bomb plot and 9/11 is admitted to being on the payroll of MI6 since 96/97.

  21. randy

Robert, any suggestions on a good thorough introductory book on linguistics and historical linguistics? Something that’s not $200?

  29. My book is Introduction to Historical Linguistics by Anthony Arlotto (1972). As a matter of fact, I was just reading the other night. My Intro to Linguistics book is in one of these boxes laying around the place, so I can’t quote the title for you. Too bad, it was a nice book.

Arlotto is dated, not that it matters really. The field doesn’t exactly come up with new ways of doing this stuff.

    • Wade in MO

      Thanks.

Have you seen this book that came out a while back called “The Horse The Wheel and Language: How Bronze-aged riders from the Eurasian steppes shaped the modern world”?

I just started reading it. It seems very interesting. It’s about the origins of the indo-european language family being in south Russia. Recommended reading for budding Hindutva psychos!!!

      • Never heard of it, but I know IE very well. In fact, I wrote a huge post on it. Click on one of the high level categories under Indo-European on the right and it should take you right there. I sent it to a famous linguist friend of mine, who sent it on to IE specialist in Germany. The guy came to my site, trashed me, and called me a dilettante, which is what I am anyway, espcially when it comes to IE. Everybody with a brain knows IE came out of southern Russia, at least after the intital breakup. But the deepest roots of all may be in Anatolia. In fact, I recommend junking the term IE and replacing it with Indo-Hittite a la Joseph Greenberg. And Sturtevant before him.

        Here.

  30. Wade in MO

Robert, I know this is going to seem like an odd question, but here it goes.

Could you write a post of the relation of the Uralic to the racial backrounds of the people who speak them. I know it seems odd, but I can’t find any information on how the caucasoid looking Finns and the mongoloid looking Nenets speak languages out of the same family. Was there ancient caucasoid/mongoloid contact in north central asia? Did a multiracial group originate the family? Was their some type of slavery like with the relation of the Tuaregs with the rest of the Berber speaking peoples? If you could post something or recommend a site I’d be grateful.

  31. I don’t really know the answer to that question, but the furthest apart of those languages are Asiatic types (Samoyeds). Or maybe even Yukaghirs, if you throw that in, and I do. You first question is the best one, and the answer is yes.

  32. Wade in MO

Robert, I think that you should do a post on the paisas of Colombia. They are the people from the region of Colombia around Medellin. They are a subset of the Colombian nation. There is a story that they are descended from converso jews. It almost sounds like stories people tell about the hispanos in New Mexico. I thought you might be interested be cause you seem to be interested in both Latin America and jews

  33. johnUK

You should do a post on the real Dalia Lama and real Tibet under his rule as well as those in the diaspora?

Robert, you should take the poltical compass test and post your results as a post. The test is at http://www.politicalcompass.org It is also an interesting site because they take the speeches and voting records of politiciams in elections for executive positions in different countries. Look at where barack Obama is. He leans toward the right wing economically and the authoritarian wing socially. Sarah Palin is way off into the authoritarian area.

    • I already did a post on that on the old site. Not sure if I republished it here, think I did.

      • johnUK

Robert George Soros is the biggest supporter of Liberal causes and the most powerful liberal in the world in fact his philosophy is based on the Open Society of his Marxist Frankfurt school Professor and mentor Karl Popper who he studied under at the London School of Economics.

But he is also one of the biggest capitalists in the world today worth billions of dollars running hedge funds and all and interference in other countries like these coloured revolutions.

        So do you support him?

He seems to be the lefts number one man like Murdoch is to the right.

  37. George Soros is an example of a rich man who works against his class interests. They do exist, and many are Jewish for some reason.

He made billions maybe even a trillion dollars worth of profits for engineering the post Soviet looting of Eastern Europe for himself and his Harvard/IMF/World Bank friends and colonising Balkans and Kosovo national mining and other companies for the US Empire.

“Working against his class interests he certainly does not”

He does definitely work for his class interests by in a subtle, underhanded way. By promoting what he does, he gets people to think that capitalists can be OK, especially jewish capitalists. If a stronger leftist movements evolves then the leaders will look to George Soros and friends and their comrades and patrons. They will be encouraged by Soros to leave the super rich like him and the tribe alone and go and fuck over middle class people, particularly if they’re white. Since people not too dissimilar from him have invaded the right
(ie neo-conservatives) there will be no major threats to the moneyed classes. The media will support the rich and people who dissent will be looked on and whackos or possibly even as mentally ill.

He uses Bolshevik/Trotskyite tactics for global dominance like advocating and supporting minority groups especially in areas rich in natural resources or geopolitical strategic areas, open borders, free abortion, tolerance propaganda, etc.

Classic Jewish/British tactic of divide and conquer who can align themselves with different power blocks depending on the circumstances.

Anyone who has eyes and ears will know that Jews are particularly touchy about anti-semitism, real or imagined. This article – http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/stressed-out-it-could-be-in-your-genes-2148653.html – has me thinking that there is a biological basis for this. Epigenitic mechanisms mean that when a human or animal undergoes extreme stress, then the subsequent generation becomes attuned to to the causes of that stress – through biology not just learning from the older generation.

The article gives the example of hares who are surrounded by predators pass on this stress to their offspring, making them hyper-vigilant and therefore able to avoid predators. Jews had their own predators in the last century.

    • Thx, I am thinking about it.

Ha, some afrocentrists really are the biggest idiots.

The stuff they say makes the looney Solutrean Hypothesis of certain white nationalists look like certified world history.

It shows an inferiority complex on the part of these afrocentrists. They have trouble pointing out genuinely great black African civilizations, so instead they try to leach onto other people’s history.

      • Wade in MO

Yeah, I found that link search the history portion of chimpout’s niggerological studies page. There is a poorly done refutation done by a high caste indian. I was thinking aobut linking it, but the he went into this crap about how the aryan invasion was a myth. It pretty silly to refute the lies of black-centrism with the lies of hindu nationalists.

        • Wade in MO

“Ha, some afrocentrists really are the biggest idiots.”

Well, they do have competition in the form of the nordicists.

“The stuff they say makes the looney Solutrean Hypothesis of certain white nationalists look like certified world history. ”

I don’t agree with the Solutrean Hypothesis, but I do believe there is a difference. the Solutrean Hypothesis was proposed by a legitimate anthropologist and went through peer review before publishing. Most afrocentrism doesn’t go through andy review, and least not any critical review, and that is why it is so full of weirdo shit like black buddhas and melanin supremacy. Afrocentrism is interesting (other than for comic relief) not because it tells us about history, but because it tells us what is going through the mind of blacks. Now we know there’s some really fucked up shit going on up their.

“Yeah, I found that link search the history portion of chimpout’s niggerological studies page”

Ever since I linked to that page in a post the other day I haven;t been able to stop looking. I went cold turkey for months. It’s just to addicting. It’s so mean, but so funny.

        • Chimpout is a classic racist humor site. Sure it’s mean as Hell though. You have to be in a certain mood to enjoy that sort of humor.

Honestly, I would not care if Black people made sort of Black analogues to Chimpout making fun of and ridiculing us Whites. I would not care how mean they are. If it was funny, I would read it anyway and probably laugh.

How come Whites don’t care if non-Whites make fun of us? They can ridicule us all they want. I could care less. And conversely, why are non-Whites so sensitive about racist humor coming from Whites? I don’t get it.

Wayne Masden thinks it is an Israeli operation which I agree and that the US intelligence community by disclosing a Mossad Yemeni honey trap plot and embarrassing info about Netanyahu which if true would be absolutely hilarious if leaked to the mass public.

“In fact, many of the leaked cables favouring Israel, hostile to Russia and China, or proving very embarrassing to President Obama appear to have been written in total or in part or contain quotes by political appointee or career Jewish diplomats with close ties to Israel and its lobby in the United States: U.S. ambassadors to Turkey Eric Edelman and James Jeffrey; Deputy Secretary of State James B. Gordon; ambassador-at-large Daniel Fried; U.S. ambassador to Canada David Jacobson; among others.

A source within the U.S. Secret Service, on deep background and on the condition of anonymity, informed WMR that while on a “business trip” to New York on November 8, Netanyahu visited a performing arts theater in West Greenwich Village. U.S. Secret Service personnel were required to accompany Netanyahu to the theater. The performance involved extreme sado-masochistic, as well as homosexual themes, according to our source, who added, “I almost threw up.” Netanyahu was passing through New York on his way to New Orleans where he addressed the general assembly of the Jewish Federation of North America.

He got arrested because he tried to commit treason by signing over YUKOS oil interests to Exxon Mobile.

ACRES: Right, he imprisoned him. Was that a sort of running up the flag to tell the rest of them what was going to happen?

HUDSON: Khodorkovsky not only had been the most notorious tax evader in Russia, but having privatized Russian oil, he was then about to turn around and sell his company to Exxon so that he could take the money out of the country in much the same way that Berezovsky and other Russian oligarchs had done.

This would have essentially sold out Russia’s natural resources to its major Cold War enemy, the United States. Russia would have been economically destroyed had Khodorkovsky gone through with it. Khodorkovsky also announced that he was going to run for president and be the main funder of the right-wing Pinochetista party there. It actually was called “The Party of Right Forces.” So of course Putin threw him in jail, quite rightly.

“The Jew has emancipated himself in a Jewish manner, not only because he has acquired financial power, but also because, through him and also apart from him, money has become a world power and the practical Jewish spirit has become the practical spirit of the Christian nations. The Jews have emancipated themselves insofar as the Christians have become Jews.”

This blogger did an Export Land Model Analysis for the USA. He claims the US standard of living is going to go way, way down:

    http://crash-watcher.blogspot.com/

My best estimate of the consumption rate per capita predicts a -38% decline by 2020, compared to 2009 levels. I assume that this will correspond to a -38% decrease in standard of living. A consumption rate per capita of 14 bs/yr•p in 2020 would put the US at about the same level it was at in 1949, or, about the level of Japan in 2008. By 2030, the consumption rate per capita has further declined -51% compared to 2009 levels. That is about the same consumption rate per capita as the USA in the early 1940s, or, France and Germany in 2008. These percentage levels of declining consumption over 20 years would not be the “end of the world”—but it would take a good deal of adjustments in the American lifestyle.

If I also assume a proportional sharing of the remaining exportable oil (fungibility) then my best estimate of the per capita consumption rate predicts a -45% decrease by 2020—that’s down to European consumption levels, circa 2008, in ten years instead of twenty years. By 2030, consumption per capita is down by 66% —roughly the same as the USA in the 1930s, or, Russia in 2008.

If I further add my declining ERoEI assumption, then the decline in the per capita consumption rate by 2020 is -54%. This would be the same rate the USA had in 1940, or, in the UK had in 2008. By 2030, however, the per capita consumption rate would have further declined by -89% compared to 2009 levels. That’s about the same as the USA’s per capita consumption rate in 1915, or, China’s in 2008. This would be a major adjustment in standard of living—although still not impossible.

    • I would take doomsayer blogs with a grain of salt.

    • GuineaPigB

      LaFleur,

I’ve read similar projections on theoildrum. The wildcard about export land model is whether or not the US–with the largest military on Earth–will merely sit on its hands while its standard of living falls so precipitously. I suspect that Americans will insist that the US government do whatever necessary stop it by invading countries based on even less believable rationales than WMDs. Of course, whether Russian and China have the balls to stop us is what will make it interesting.

      • David

No problem if it’s too personal. I’m actually interested because I’ve been diagnosed with it by several different psychiatrists now. I’m assuming there is a good possibility that they are correct, unless I just happened to run into an unlucky row of idiot shrinks. Allegedly I don’t have the traditional “up and down” swing pattern, I basically am either flatline or manic, no depressive episodes to speak of. There is no regularity to the swing between normal and manic periods either, and in fact according to them I’ve only had one manic episode in my life so far (though it’s possible I may be in the midst of another one right now, as my productivity level has gone up). I’m actually highly skeptical of the diagnoses, especially after reading through the DSM criteria myself, but like I said, several different professionals have made the same claim, so I have to take it seriously.

  59. tulio

Might be interesting to see a post on differences in expressing humor between the races. I was just watching the Oscars and as usually it’s by and large white actors entertaining an audience of nearly all whites. The humor routines seem to cause the white audience to erupt in laughter, but they never make me crack a smile. White humor is often dry, delivered in deadpan style, based on sarcasm and satire. It can be pretty witty too. Some might say that perhaps whites are more intelligent and their humor is more subtle so that’s why I don’t find it funny, but I’m a pretty smart guy, I know what they’re saying, it’s just that white humor doesn’t push my funny buttons. I’m in no way slamming it, I’m sure it’s good stuff, it just wasn’t made for black people. I remember going to see Harry Potter with some white friends of the SWPL variety. The whole audience in fact was SWPLs and some of them dressed up in the Harry Potter clothing and all(you’ll never find blacks doing that, lol). They were constantly erupting in laughter at these lines in the movie. I never found any of those lines even the least bit funny, though I’m sure they were if you’re in the target demographic.

Black humor is much more jubilant and animated. I’ve never seen a black comedian deliver deadpan humor. Blacks generally would be bored to tears with that stuff. It’s like the difference between a Catholic mass with its formality and reserve and a black Baptist church in New Orleans with a shouting, lively preacher and gospel choir singing like a Motown recording session. A constant theme in black humor is poking fun at whites for their cultural stiffness. Black humor uses a lot or ridicule, exaggeration and word play. Some whites probably think black humor is less intelligent, but Chris Rock is arguably the prevailing black comedian and he is pretty damn smart. You know a comedian is smart when he’s hilarious and witty on the fly when not doing routines.

Hispanic humor is probably very similar to black humor.

I have no idea what Asian humor is like. I’m sure it varies widely by country. I know Japanese stuff can be quite bizarre and weird. There are no prominent Asian comedians in America other than Margaret Cho and her stuff mainly appeals to whites I’m sure.

When I speak of white humor I’m talking of Anglo(N. American and British) humor. Black humor specifically black Americans. I have no idea what people find funny in various African countries.

The way humor is expressed is a good insight into the character of different cultures/races.

    • Bay Area Guy

What I’ve noticed is that white humor (to partially agree with you) is dry humor based on sarcasm, wit, and satire. It also relies on various cultural/literary/historical allusions (think Simpsons and Family Guy).

It’s absolutely hilarious when on, and incredibly painful when off.

There’s no particular white comedian I like. Shows like Family Guy (or at least what it used to be. It’s absolute shit nowadays), and certain movies crack me up.

Black humor, if nothing else, is very consistent. Black comedians are quite predictable, in my opinion. It’s always “white folk be doing this,” “can’t do shit with niggas,” “I fucked that bitch hella good,” etc. It’s also much more racially/sexually based.

Relative to white humor, it’s much more crude, and blunt.

Don’t get me wrong, it can be very funny when done right. I think Chris Rock can be pretty damn funny at times.

Paul Mooney, on the other hand, no. Besides his hostility towards whites, I don’t find him too amusing because he sounds like he has a stick up his ass. He was much better writing for Richard Pryor than doing stand-up.

I think The Boondocks does a very good at combining wit, sarcasm, and parody, with the bluntness and exaggeration of black humor. I really like the way they juxtapose Huey’s dry wit and cool sarcasm with the absurd antics of other characters.

      • tulio

What I wonder is do whites generally find blacks funnier than black find whites? The Chris Rock show had a lot of white viewers, but I doubt you’ll find many blacks that watch Seinfeld.

I think many whites will find black humor too raunchy and over the top. Whites prefer subtle humor and they’re very much into the deadpan and sarcasm thing. There are some black comedians that whites have usually enjoyed like George Wallace.

You know what I take some of my comments back, on second thought Bill Cosby in his comedian days frequently delivers in the subtle deadpan tone, but he’s more popular with whites than blacks I think. And some white comics are certainly raunchy, bold and full of sex talk like Rodney Dangerfield and Andrew Dice Clay. George Carlin was anything but subtle. So I guess there’s a lot of overlap, but even still, there is a certain type of humor that seems to be “white humor” that is different from “black humor”.

        • tulio

Another thing I notice is that Jews disproportionately make up white comedians.

        • Bay Area Guy

Another thing I notice is that Jews disproportionately make up white comedians.

Just as they do everything else (well, except sports and anything physically related).

As much as I give Jews crap, I have to give credit where it’s due. Seinfeld is pretty damn funny, and Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David has its funny moments as well.

      • Bay Area Guy

There are some black comedians that whites have usually enjoyed like George Wallace.

Really, the segregationist governor of Alabama was a black comedian? 🙂

See, witty white humor topped off with a historical allusion!

With regards to Cosby, I think that was part of his whole act. He deliberately avoided the whole “raunchy and racial” black comedian image, and went out of his way to avoid profanity or racial material.

Going all the way back to I Spy, he sought to project the image of a clean, dry, non-stereotypical black comedian.

I like the Cosby Show, and it was hailed as a breakthrough. That being said, I don’t think it exactly presented a realistic portrayal of black comedy.

    • Bay Area Guy

know Japanese stuff can be quite bizarre and weird.

      Hehe, you mean like this?

I admit, this shit is pretty funny.

      • tulio

Yeah, Ive noticed torment and humiliation is a theme in Japanese humor. You could NEVER get away with this shit in America:

The look on that guys face at 1:03 nearly dropped me to the floor in laughter, but seriously, it’s really fucked up what they did to this guy staging him to make him think he was about to be murdered.

        • tulio

Btw, doesn’t the guy that think he’s going to die look Korean? Maybe he is Korean and since Japanese hate Koreans living in Japan they thought it would be funny.

        • Bay Area Guy

You could NEVER get away with this shit in America:

LOL! There would be a lawsuit.

And yeah, I don’t think that guy would do too well in a real life crisis situation!

        • Bay Area Guy

Btw, doesn’t the guy that think he’s going to die look Korean?

          Beats me.

I go to UCI and I still have yet to develop the ability to phenotypically distinguish between different Asian ethnic groups. I just see them as Asian.

I once had a conversation along this line with one of my Asian friends back in high school. He joshed me for not knowing Asian phenotypical differences. I responded by asking him if he distinguished between Germans, French, Norweigans, and Russians? He said no, and that he just saw them as all white. Well, same here with regards to Asians.

But anyway, yeah, apparently even Koreans who are 3rd generation and speak perfect Japanese are not accepted.

But if he were Korean, I can definitely see why the native Japanese would find that funny.

        • tulio

Koreans are usually the easiest NE to distinguish. Not trying to sound insulting, but of all Asians, they have most slanted eyes and their faces tend to be very flat with quite prominent cheekbones. They look the most “Asian” of all Asian sub-races I think. There is some overlap though and I’ve seen Chinese or Japanese that I thought were Korean.

        • Yes, Koreans are typically the easiest to differentiate. The high cheekbones are a dead giveaway. The Japanese nationals (ie, tourists here in L.A.) stand out as well. Their faces seems “softer” and less harshly Asian, is the best I can put it.

        • Huax

Koreans don’t have one phenotype, nor do the Japanese, and especially not the Chinese. Koreans are basically the “Northeastern” type + wherever they got their O3 from, combined with some kind of Southeast Asian (who tend to concentrate among lower classes/those that date whites) and a tiny bit of maybe Ainu blood. Varies from region to region.

    • Huax

Asian and Hispanic aren’t races, but afaik Chinese humor is best when it’s political, and there is a often a lot of cultural nuance involved. At least that’s what my family does.

    • Matt

Margaret Cho is a lot like the Asian female version of Richard Pryor, except for the lack of anything remotely funny or entertaining in her routines. I love British humor, but my ex wife hated it because she thought it celebrated stupidity and incompetence (Fawlty Towers, Are you Being Served, etc.). I’d have to agree with her wrt Benny Hill, which never did a thing for me.

      • Wade in MO

“Margaret Cho is a lot like the Asian female version of Richard Pryor, except for the lack of anything remotely funny or entertaining in her routines.”

That women is seriously UNfunny. There are few things I can’t stand to watch and she is one. Even other comedians that I don’t really like have some funny things to say. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her say anything funny.

  60. Racial comedy completely sucks. It’s never funny cause it’s so obvious.

Mitch Hedberg is dead but that dude was one funny fuck. I love nuanced observations, the kind of stuff that asks you to look at something but from an entirely different angle or perception. I suppose this might be called “white” humor. George Lopez sure doesn’t know squat about that.

Robert, I’m just wondering is there’s a way to COMPLETELY clear your browsing history, to the point where google doesn’t even give you a heads up if you type certain letters in.

I’m just wondering, since in today’s age, you can never be too careful.

I just hope that certain remarks of mine don’t come back to haunt me later.

Have you seen this article, Robert? A retired Professor of History from the University of Illinois in Chicago argues that the “Irish People Weren’t Considered White” theory popularized by Noel Ignatiev is a myth:

    http://tigger.uic.edu/~rjensen/no-irish.htm

Irish Catholics in America have a vibrant memory of humiliating job discrimination, which featured omnipresent signs proclaiming “Help Wanted–No Irish Need Apply!” No one has ever seen one of these NINA signs because they were extremely rare or nonexistent. The market for female household workers occasionally specified religion or nationality. Newspaper ads for women sometimes did include NINA, but Irish women nevertheless dominated the market for domestics because they provided a reliable supply of an essential service. Newspaper ads for men with NINA were exceedingly rare. The slogan was commonplace in upper class London by 1820; in 1862 in London there was a song, “No Irish Need Apply,” purportedly by a maid looking for work. The song reached America and was modified to depict a man recently arrived in America who sees a NINA ad and confronts and beats up the culprit. The song was an immediate hit, and is the source of the myth. Evidence from the job market shows no significant discrimination against the Irish–on the contrary, employers eagerly sought them out. Some Americans feared the Irish because of their religion, their use of violence, and their threat to democratic elections. By the Civil War these fears had subsided and there were no efforts to exclude Irish immigrants. The Irish worked in gangs in job sites they could control by force. The NINA slogan told them they had to stick together against the Protestant Enemy, in terms of jobs and politics. The NINA myth justified physical assaults, and persisted because it aided ethnic solidarity. After 1940 the solidarity faded away, yet NINA remained as a powerful memory.

    Some interesting tidbits:

As for the question of anti-Irish prejudice: it existed but it was basically anti-Catholic or anti-anti-republican. There have been no documented instances of job discrimination against Irish men.

    Also:

Dale T. Knobel, Paddy and the Republic: Ethnicity and Nationality in Antebellum America (1986) grossly exaggerates the ridicule toward the Irish—even to the point of reprinting cartoons that had nothing to do with the Irish, after removing the captions. Knobel haphazardly selected a couple hundred publications (he never says exactly how many); he selected newspaper stories, for example, that dealt with riots and other episodes of intergroup violence which have little relevance to employment or social status. He found 1592 references to the Irish over the years 1820—1860. However sources, such as melodramas with numerous Irish characters, had numerous references, and each was counted as a separate “unit-perception.”

    (…)

Knobel’s misreading of the evidence was perpetuated by David Roediger, The Wages of Whiteness: Race and the Making of the American Working Class (1991) and Noel Ignatiev, How the Irish Became White (1995) who uncritically used page 88 of Knobel (which, however, is highly ambiguous and misleading in the first place.) No American in the 19th century is known to have considered Irish as black. The Confederacy for example, welcomed Irish Catholics as citizens and soldiers—even as governors and generals.

      @ Lafleur

Well, I guess that’s another anti-racist myth shattered.

I also think that Tim Wise’s whole belief that “the white race only came about because one day, a bunch of evil elites invented it out of thin air to divide workers” is inaccurate. Some good analysis on that would be interesting.

      • Wade in MO

“Well, I guess that’s another anti-racist myth shattered”

This myth is also part of irish-american “mythology”. I doubt it will be given up easily.

      • LaFleur

I agree that Wise’s theory is probably flawed. He talks about Bacon’s Rebellion here:

        http://www.timwise.org/2007/05/on-white-pride-and-other-delusions-reflections-on-the-rage-of-the-uninformed/

Contrary to popular belief, the white race is a quite modern creation, which only emerged as a term and concept to describe Europeans in the late 1600s and after, specifically in the colonies of what would become the United States. Prior to that time, “whites” had been a collection of Europeans with little in common, and often long histories of conflict, bloodshed and conquest of one another’s lands and peoples. The English, for example, did not consider themselves to be of the same group as the Irish, Germans, Italians, or French. While most Europeans by that time may have thought of themselves as Christians, there is no evidence that they conceived of themselves as a race of people, with a common heritage or destiny.

But the notion of the white race found traction in the North American colonies, not because it described a clear scientific concept, or some true historical bond between persons of European descent, but rather, because the elites of the colonies (who were small in number but controlled the vast majority of colonial wealth) needed a way to secure their power. At the time, the wealthy landowners feared rebellions, in which poor European peasants might join with African slaves to overthrow aristocratic governance; after all, these poor Europeans were barely above the level of slaves themselves, especially if they worked as indentured servants.

In 1676, for example, Bacon’s Rebellion prompted a new round of colonial laws to extend rights and privileges to despised poor Europeans, so as to divide them from those slaves with whom they had much in common, economically speaking. By allowing the lowest of Europeans to be placed legally above all Africans, and by encouraging (or even requiring) them to serve on slave patrols, the elite gave poor “whites” a stake in the system that had harmed them. Giving poor Europeans the right to own land, ending indentured servitude in the early 1700s, and in some cases allowing them to vote, were all measures implemented so as to convince lower-caste Europeans that their interests were closer to those of the rich than to those of blacks. It was within this context that the term “white” to describe Europeans en masse was born, as an umbrella term to capture the new pan-Euro unity needed to defend the system of African slavery and Indian genocide going on in the Americas. And the trick worked marvelously, dampening down the push for rebellion by poor whites on the basis of class interest, and encouraging them to cast their lot with the elite, if only in aspirational terms.

This sounds a bit simplistic. Wise’s theory is based on the assumption that Europeans did not identify in any way as Europeans before the late 1600s. It seems to me that Wise is assuming that because someone decided to divide Europeans and Africans, it follows that any European identity is automatically false. (What sort of fallacy is he using there?)

While most Europeans by that time may have thought of themselves as Christians, there is no evidence that they conceived of themselves as a race of people, with a common heritage or destiny.

ORLY? What about Charlemagne? They may not have conceived of themselves as a race of people, but they certainly had a common heritage in ancient Greece, Rome, the Church, and the Renaissance. Just because there was conflict between European nations does not mean that they had no sense of themselves as Europeans.

I’d say Wise is simplifying things because of a Marxist impulse to destroy all identities besides class interests, but I don’t think he gives a rat’s ass about class interests. I think he’s mostly concerned with maintaining his mental sainthood, and living the good SWPL life while doing so.

        • Bay Area Guy

A major problem with Wise’s analysis is that, very ironically, it reeks of U.S. exceptionalism.

What he fails to take into account is that whiteness/racial categories emerged in other parts of the New World, particularly Latin America and the Caribbean, before Bacon’s Rebellion.

They too had a notion of whiteness, only for them, whiteness was based on appearance, not ancestry.

So, in the mind of Tim Wise, whiteness only emerged after Bacon’s Rebellion, as a conspiracy by the rich to divide the workers.

I’m pretty sure that in places such as Brazil, racial identities had already developed (My knowledge of Brazilian history is almost nonexistent, so somebody correct me if I’m wrong).

I think Thad’s explanation for the development of whiteness is more accurate: Whites didn’t think of themselves as such until they started encountering radically different looking groups of people in large numbers during the birth of modernity. Socially, that explanation makes the most sense.

I’ll take the word of a serious anthropology professor who teaches about race over that of a buffoonish hustler.

Also, contrary to popular belief, Indians were not physically exterminated (as Wise and other leftists claim) and genocide against Indians, in racial terms, did not occur until the late 19th/early 20th centuries. And those genocidal policies primarily took the form of forced assimilation/other attempts to eliminate American Indian identity.

And besides, most leftists couldn’t give a crap about Indians. They only invoke them to support open borders or make the whole “we’re all immigrants” argument.

They don’t care about the actual history of American Indians or their current conditions, much less advocate any serious policies to help them.

        • LaFleur

          Excellent comment, BAG.

So, in the mind of Tim Wise, whiteness only emerged after Bacon’s Rebellion, as a conspiracy by the rich to divide the workers.

I think whiteness theory originated in the 70s with Maoist Third Worldists like Noel Ignatiev and J. Sakai. They were unhappy with their lack of success in selling revolutionary communism to white workers. My guess is that seeing the working class white majority as an obstacle to their worker’s paradise, they decided to destroy them. Eventually they hooked up with the capitalist elite, who had their own reasons to disempower the proles with their H1B and open borders happy talk. Neoliberal cultural leftism came into being, in which you could be a capitalist and claim to be fighting for social justice at the same time.

Seeing the ease with which failed Maoists have joined together with capitalists, one has to consider the possibility that whiteness studies is simply an intra-white class war.

        • Bay Area Guy

I’d actually say this goes as far back as Trotsky. Trotsky too identified white workers as a hostile element that had to be attacked and re-educated on race issues.

The article linked to that post and Robert’s analysis explains it pretty well.

          https://robertlindsay.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/leon-trotsky-barack-obama-and-the-black-vanguard-of-the-revolution”/

But yeah, I agree. I think that “whiteness theory” originated among disenchanted Marxists, and that it really came into being during the identity/culture wars of the 80s/90s, particularly on college campuses.

Also, the rise of cultural marxism has much to do with the Frankfurt School and Herbert Marcuse (who mentored black activist Angela Davis). Jacques Derrida and his whole idea of “deconstruction” also played a role.

Eventually they hooked up with the capitalist elite, who had their own reasons to disempower the proles with their H1B and open borders happy talk. Neoliberal cultural leftism came into being, in which you could be a capitalist and claim to be fighting for social justice at the same time.

Good point. You know what, Lafleur? The next time a leftist sings the praises of open borders and calls immigration restrictionist racists, I’ll very cooly and condescendingly (yeah, I said condescendingly. Just giving those SWPL’s a taste of their own medicine!) say this:

“You know who also supports open borders and globalization? The corporations! So yeah, proud lefty, you think you’re being so brave by denouncing immigration restrictionists as racists, but all you’re doing is going along with what the corporations want. Yeah, some lefty you are!”

I’m sure that mockingly telling cultural lefties that they support the corporate agenda would shut them up pretty quickly, at least if they had any sense of shame.

        • Bay Area Guy

Maoist Third Worldists are some of the most disgusting and clueless people out there.

They support open borders, viciously attack white identity, identify white workers as a hostile element benefiting from “white privilege,” and indicate on several occasions that they care more about random 3rd worlders than white Americans.

These same people then lament that white workers/middle class people “vote against their interests.”

Yeah, well no shit. You call them a bunch of ignorant, backward, racist brutes and support illegal immigrants and 3rd worlders over them, what do you expect them to do?

If it weren’t for all of this “I’m a citizen of the world” third worldist crap, in addition to other manifestations of cultural marxism, I think more whites would be on board with the democrats.

I’ve been saying that forever. Who was involved with so much of the union movements in the late 1800s and early 1900s? Not native americans and I don’t recall too many blacks either. There are still some whites who are in unions who vote democratic, but you can tell that they’re a whole different type of people form the liberal weirdos of college campuses. I don’t think my father or neighbors or anyone else who has extensive factory experience really wants to be associated with the Vagina Monologues crowd, but then again, the midwest is very different from Vermont or California.

I like to call this the fruit of the poisoned tree phenomenon. The left does (or at least did) offer white workers better economic policies than the Republicans. But at the same time, with that comes Vagina Monologues and “white privilege” conferences. Not to mention the fact that most leftists support open borders and outsourcing, so they’re not even very progressive economically.

Even the UAW is working toward the third worldization of the US. Not only by supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants, but by openly marketing itself to the auto industry with guarantees to keep wages low, productivity high, and worker resistance non-existent.

Most of the left has lost the will to fight the economic battle, but they aren’t honest enough to give up the illusion that they own the moral high ground.

In the western world you can not say a positive thing about China which is not helped by the fact that western countries and there intelligence agencies donate a substantial amount of money and resources into anti-Chinese propaganda which is probably the number 1 target country or just behind Russia and Serbia.

The “Of Dogs and Men” post has me thinking there are a lot of good untapped subjects related to Man’s Best Friend:

    * Dogs that can detect diseases. How cool is that? Dogs that can anticipate and warn people about seizures and heart attacks, sniff out some cancers (melanoma, colon cancer, not sure what others), sniff out infections and diabetes.

    * Working dogs in general: lots of possibilities here. Farm dogs, service dogs for the disabled, bomb-sniffing dogs, rescue dogs, therapy dogs, etc.

    * What’s up with Muslims and dogs??

    • Dota

      Amy

“”* What’s up with Muslims and dogs??”””

Dogs are considered to be ritualistically unclean animals, and I have no idea why. Islam borrows its code of hygiene from Judaism (book of Leviticus amoung other sources) to some extent, so that might be a possible route of investigation. Muslims are permitted to keep guard dogs outside their houses but are not allowed to let them in. Cats are considered to be clean and Muhammad was a huge cat lover. Again, the logic eludes me as well.

      • Amy

Jewish law does not prohibit keeping either dogs or cats as pets. (The kosher food laws–as per the Torah/Bible, I’m not familiar with the Talmud, etc.–don’t specifically ban eating them either, though both animals are considered “unclean” as food.)

As much as I like both dogs and cats, I can respect folks not allowing pets in their houses or not wanting to interact with them, for cultural, religious, or personal reasons. However, there have been cases of disabled schoolchildren not being allowed their guide dogs in school because their Muslim classmates can’t tolerate having them in school, Muslim taxi drivers, bus drivers, and store owners not allowing guide dogs in their taxis, buses, and stores, and at least one case of an elderly disabled passenger having to get off a bus because Muslim passengers reacted badly to his guide dog. I can’t see any excuse for that, especially if it occurs in the country where that dog is registered.

On the other hand, there are mosques that allow guide dogs in the UK.

There’s a Muslim woman in Michigan who uses a guide horse. Kind of difficult to get around, yeah?, even with a miniature horse, but still, it’s great that she has a way around the religious prohibition:

        http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30155540/ns/health-health_care/t/seeing-eye-horse-guides-blind-muslim-woman/

Capuchin monkeys are also used as helper animals–I wonder if they are also considered unclean? Easier to travel with one, too!

“””However, there have been cases of disabled schoolchildren not being allowed their guide dogs in school because their Muslim classmates can’t tolerate having them in school, “””””

          Sigh

This is the sort of behavior that embarrasses me to no end. I would personally not give a crap since I’m not extremely religious anyway, but even the more conservative Muslims need to realize that the sharia allows itself to be waived when confronted with extenuating circumstances. I really do wish Muslims would lighten the hell up sometimes.

“”There’s a Muslim woman in Michigan who uses a guide horse. Kind of difficult to get around, yeah?, even with a miniature horse, but still, it’s great that she has a way around the religious prohibition:”””

This is what I’m talking about. Sharia allows its rules to be bent to prevent extreme discomfort. A guide dog should suffice here and end of story.

“”Jewish law does not prohibit keeping either dogs or cats as pets. “””

Recognize that the Jews of Yathrib (Medina) were a peculiar bunch who were isolated from the mainstream Judaism. As such, scholars have theorized that they developed their own unique brand of Judaism that Muhammad eventually came in contact with. Actually, some scholars believe that they were basically Arabs who had converted to Judaism, but I digress. I’ll try and look more into this.

  73. Bay Area Guy

I really do wish Muslims would lighten the hell up sometimes.

Personally, my views on Muslims are mixed.

On the one hand, I’m generally not into Muslim bashing because it goes along with Zionist/Neocon propaganda. Muslim Americans in general are also pretty well integrated and don’t cause too many problems.

At the same time, as someone who follows/cares about the European scene, I cannot say I approve of the large presence of Muslims there. Muslims in Europe seriously need to internalize the saying, “when in Rome, do as Romans do.” Not only must Islam be tolerated, but Europeans have to bend over backwards to kiss their ass.

All I know is that the situation of Muslims in Europe is a ticking time bomb, which has already exploded on a few occasions. I can’t help but think that before too long, Europe will cease to exist and become an extension of the Middle East. I don’t look forward to that day.

“”Muslim Americans in general are also pretty well integrated and don’t cause too many problems. “””

True story, even from my personal experience. My extended family in the US is living the American dream. My uncle provably makes over 200k per year, has a great house, both kids in University and has a personal trainer. My sister and her husband make over 200k a year and have a great life. My cousin has married a white man and has a beautiful home in the mountains of Seattle. Most of my friends and family in the US are living it up. But you must also realize Bag, that we’re Indians, and this is one group that has really prospered in the US. Ethnicity comes first, religion second.

I agree with your assessment about Muslims in Europe, it is an unfortunate reality. People talk about the ‘American Dream’ and how it tends to integrate immigrants but surely Europe offers the same economic opportunities does it not?

    • Amy

When I lived in Northern Virginia I met & worked with Muslims of all sorts, immigrants from over a dozen different countries as well as native converts. Truth be told, nearly everyone was a likeable sort of person. Most of them were quite well-educated. Although I was living in the area dubbed “North Virginiastan, ” I never encountered any of the sort of unpleasantness one reads about happening in “Londonistan.”

Though I do wonder, if the population in North Virginia reached the sort of concentration found in parts of the UK, if things would change for the worse.

  74. Bay Area Guy

When Americans analyze anti-Muslim sentiment in Europe, they impose their very American notions of citizenship on Europe. Like the U.S, European countries must become creedal nations, and how dare they define their nations on the basis of ethnicity.

I don’t know about you, but I think it’s pretty damn absurd that Abdullah Muhammad is now considered (by some) just as British as Walter Smith. And there’s no way Mustafa should be considered German in the same way that Hans is.

I still remember vividly traveling to Europe, and despite knowing that they had diversity, was really taken back by all the non-Europeans (ie. non-whites, particularly Muslims), that I saw there.

That, in addition to the negative experiences I had with non-whites in high school and the realization that the U.S. would be majority non-white before too long, set the stage for my awakening.

The way I see it, Europe ought to remain European. Immigrants and their descendants have been taking advantage of their tolerance for too long.

On another note, Indian immigrants and their descendants are very successful. At the same time, I think that selective immigration plays a big role. They call it the “brain drain” for a reason.

I can’t help but notice the disparity between the great success of diaspora Indians and the great backwardness of India itself.

I can only conclude from this that the U.S. and other countries attract the best of the best from India.

    • Bay Area Guy

I still remember vividly traveling to Europe

There is nothing wrong with Europe being European since most Euro countries are nation states to begin with. I recall the overwhelming resentment that many Indians felt when Congress won the national election some years ago. Reason? Because they did not want Sonia Gandhi (An Italian woman) to run India.

“That, in addition to the negative experiences I had with non-whites in high school and the realization that the U.S. would be majority non-white before too long, set the stage for my awakening. “”

But you can’t just blame immigration here. Whites have lower birth rates because their culture has been sabotaged by Feminism while Christianity has also been undermined. Most whites know nothing about their European heritages, and have no appreciation for philosopy or classical music. I strongly believe that Whites need to put their own affairs in order instead of just blamming immigrants.

“”I don’t know about you, but I think it’s pretty damn absurd that Abdullah Muhammad is now considered (by some) just as British as Walter Smith. “””

On the one hand, I’m generally not into Muslim bashing because it goes along with Zionist/Neocon propaganda. Muslim Americans in general are also pretty well integrated and don’t cause too many problems.“

Do you believe mosques are a legitimate military target if they are used for fundraising and recruitment for foreign jihad like in Bosnia, Kosovo, Xinjing, Chechnya, etc?

Was the Japanese Tsunami a response to Japan aligning themselves with anti-Christ Turks/Islam waging proxy jihad against China?

”this is where i went to read eid namaz. notice the clear blue sky!! its still hot here, the temperature was 24c on the day. most of the people were turkish, but there were others too, and quiet a few japanese brothers too!!”

Wow! What a miracle mosques survived the Tsunami. Coincidence?

weird on many levels, but focusing on the picture…..thinking okay even rich forbes fuckers have black wives, i guess i’ll buy that, but wait, maybe it’s showing that his wife’s family kindly adopted a disabled black child… wait, is there an obvious propaganda motive to his blackness being shown….then i looked for comments that might explain any of this and i found:

I don’t see how that is possible as he will save at least a trillion dollars by dismantling the Empire, stopping all these wars and occupation, cutting billions in foreign aid to countries including Israel and closing down most of the hundreds of US military bases around the world.

Note sure what his position on the missile shield is though.

Robert I think you should do a post on “new anti-Semitism” which seems to be more targeted towards the left and targeted predominantly Jewish created political movements like feminism, socialism, etc that have taken up the Palestinian cause.

“NSW Attorney-General Greg Smith has accused the Greens of echoing the worst aspects of historical anti-Semitism in Europe in their bid to ban economic, sporting and cultural contacts with Israel.”

    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/greens-israel-ban-bid-is-anti-semitic/story-fn59niix-1226120784341

I have also noticed after 9/11 some consider anti-Americanism (whatever the hell that is) as a manifestation of anti-Semitism.

“Proponents of the concept argue that anti-Zionism, anti-Americanism, anti-globalization, third worldism, and demonization of Israel, or double standards applied to its conduct, may be linked to antisemitism, or constitute disguised antisemitism.”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_anti-Semitism

Over the last few years I’ve been focusing a lot of my research on present day anti-Semitism… In the course of my research I began to notice that some of the people who were voicing some of the harshest hostility were themselves Jews, especially Jews on the radical Left. I wanted to document and try to explain their words, which struck me as often being extreme”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Jewish_Thought_and_the_New_Anti-Semitism

    http://www.phyllis-chesler.com/books/the-new-anti-semitism

It will be some time before a major public figure confronts the question of anti-Semitism in a speech as to the point as that delivered last night by Rupert Murdoch to the annual banquet of the Anti-Defamation League in New York. The honoree of the evening, he noted that the League has been so successful that a few years ago some people were beginning to say, “Maybe we don’t need an ADL any more.” That, he said, “is a much harder argument to make these days” when, as he put it, “we live in a world where there is an ongoing war against the Jews.”

Robert, I believe you said linguistics was your field of study. What language has the most robust vocabulary? I know people usually say English, but answer in this link gives me second thought: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_language_contains_the_most_words

Creating an actual count of words is a complex task because it’s not always easy to determine what counts as a unique word and then one must decide whether to include words that have fallen out of usage. Do you know if there is a definitive answer on which language is most robust?

And also, do you think English allows for the most precise expression of thought? Sometimes I’ll try to practice my language learning by watching an English movie and turn on the Spanish or Portugugese subtitles. What strikes me is that the Romance languages don’t seem as precise as English. They can approximate but often can’t quite nail a crucial line. We have a lot of different ways of saying the same sentence. I don’t see that as much in the Romance languages. Or am I wrong?

    • It all depends what you want to talk about. For instance, Occitan, which most think is a dead language, has say 50 different words for wetlands. It has something like 80 different words for a plowed field or worked farmland. See what I mean?

    • A lot of languages think that synonyms are bullshit. I understand the Korean doesn’t have many synonyms. My sister had a Korean friend who spoken Korean and she thought that English was stupid with all the synonyms. It was ridiculous. To her it just meant 5-20 different ways of saying the same thing. Koreans think that’s stupid.

Might be worth discussing–video of NYC cops macing nonviolent female protestors (“Occupy Wall Street” protest):

It amazes me how little the prevalence of dashcams and cell phone cameras seems to have affected abusive cop behavior–but then again, maybe it used to be a lot worse.

Hmm–I learned a new word, reading about this–“kettling” (referring to the police tactic of corralling or cordoning off groups of protestors):
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettling

    • Our burgeoning homeland paramilitary getting its licks in. I suspect it’s a role American law enforcement will fulfill with gusto in the future if more disaffected take to the streets. From the Wikipedia link, “Protesters are left only one choice of exit, determined by the police, or are completely prevented from leaving. In some cases protesters are reported to have been denied access to food, water and toilet facilities for a long period…” This practice borders on the dubious but I’m confident courts will typically err on the side of the coppers.

      • Amy

If most of us didn’t have such abysmal attention spans these videos might have more of an effect on this sort of thing.

    • I’m not even going to read it. It’s ridiculous. IQ’s have been rising for a very long time now, and this idiot says they have been declining? What a fuckwad.

      • Shawn

I used to think that, but I don’t think the Lynn-Flynn effect is measuring actual changes. I really don’t. When something seems counter-intuitive it is usually wrong. The fact is that more educated people have been having less kids for at least 60 years if not more. I’m all for saving those with genetic defects since I believe humane societies are important. On the other hand, we must realize that ability and fertility is not linked as it once was. To me the only reasonable approach is eugenics if we are to be humane to those who are already carrying genetic weaknesses; we need a counterbalance.

      • Shawn

To add further clarification to my position, let me just say that it is possible for someone to be more intelligent today yet at the same time possess less genetic capability for intelligence. IQ is affected by environment by about 18%.

Have you ever heard Amish people speak? They are very nice people. Sometimes some of them sound drunk though. They are only educated to the 8th grade. I am sure that they would not do too well on an IQ test, with the exceptions of maybe Ravens (as far as I know the data documenting the Lynn-Flynn effect did not involve the Ravens test). Environment, including education, actually CAN make you smarter up to a certain point, helping one reach their genetic ceiling. I believe that if you were to take an average American White person from 100 years ago and time travel them to the present and put them through our educational system, chances are that that that person would perform better than your average person of non-color.

This is actually one of the better 9/11 videos detailing the individuals connected to government affiliated companies and the CIA whose offices were directly targeted by the plane s in the WTC who by sheer luck just happened to be absent and were involved in Iraq like Paul Bremmer.
None of the BS theory like if a missile hit the Pentagon instead of a plane which I think are purposely constructed to steer questions away from real leads which it was discovered that Adnan Khashoggi was helping fund the 9/11 truth movement.

Is this why we have not heard of the extensive links between the 9/11 hijackers and Chechnya? Yes!

A lot of coincidences for 9/11 not to be an inside job Robert.

  99. NOW IT CAN BE TOLD
    THE TRUTH ABOUT DEVOLUTION
    KNOWLEDGE CAN BE EATEN
    (A.K.A THE CANNIBAL APE THEORY)
Back in the late 70s, as a high schooler, I started following an obscure little punk band named DEVO, In college, everybody was still listening to B.O.C. and Zep and although amused by the antics of the nerdish crew (among the first to use video) they thought I was foolish to like DEVO’s dissonant subversive brand of rock which sought to expose how corporate manipulation had pretty much converted us into automotons of consumption. All very presicent notions to this day. Later on, they became very popular with such danceable hits as “Whip It” and “Girl You Want” and when I was getting dates with hot girls who thought my punkish dance moves, short hair and skinny ties were cool, the guys weren’t laughing anymore. But I digress; one of the main subjects of DEVO, was how instead of evolving, humans were “devolving” in fact DEVO stands for De-evolution and how as a species we were doomed from the start and destined to demise by our own biological makeup. Part of my attraction to DEVO was this resonant message about how humans were somehow “defective” and although a student of Anthropology I never much looked into the background of the DEVO theory, I just liked the crazy music. Later on around 1987, when I was teaching, a colleague let me borrow a book called, “The Beginning was the End” (Der Anfang was Der Ende) by a Hungrian author named Oscar Kis Maerth, excerpt: http://www.rosemanmanagement.com/book/Chapter_1.pdf
Maerth theorizes that we evolved from cannibal apes who ate the brains of other apes for the aphrodisical effects and thus developed an oversized brain far exceeding what was needed for our survival, becoming out of sync with nature, losing our telepathic connection with God and eachother which all other species maintain, leading to the need for language and culture and the related conflicts that ensued leading to a generalized state of psychosis in which we exist in a constant state of war and environmental degradation. Maerth goes on to say that the story of Original Sin is basically a metaphor for this reality: the forbidden fruit of knowlege was the brain of others humans we ate because it made us horny after which we fell from grace with God!! Even though it seemed a little far fetched, Maerth posits some pretty interesting theories which he supports with scientific evidence of cannibalism and headhunting being practiced thoughout human history to this day, i.e. the Jivaros of Peru, and a common find in archaeological sites throughout the world: skulls with carved large holes. Maerth’s arguments shocked and haunted me not so much by their scientific foundation but by how it all seemed to make logical sense. Then around 2003, I came upon a record at a vintage record store called “DEVO, Now it Can Be Told, How Man Came into Being through Cannibalism, Knowledge Can be Eaten.” I had never seen it before. I almost fainted when I realized, DEVO was based on Maerth’s theories!! I had never linked the two! Many of the songs and lyrics allude to these theories “Swelling Itching Brain,” “Hea like a Hole.” Some later internet research confirmed this. Back in the 70s Maeth’s theories made some waves in Europe but were largely ignored in the States. And although largely dismissed as junk science, Maerth offers some fascinating theories concerning the origin of Homo Sapiens which might merit a second look.

Ah, I’ve been feeling a bit too dark for the straight-up folk music lately. I sometimes listen to kids’ music too though. The kiddo doesn’t listen to them anymore, but I still love John Lithgow’s kids’ albums (show tunes, big band, jazz) and some of Dan Zanes’ stuff (more folky).
Here’s something happier: John Lithgow singing “At the Codfish Ball”

  111. Gay State Girl

I hated that song. I was thinking more along the lines of:

OK everyone, pity party for David, all together: “awwwwww!” 😉

We sang one with that tune, but the words were different–was it about a bear? I can’t remember. There was a line about a branch “and on that branch…” etc. It will probably come to me later.
But I went to a religious camp and there were as many hymn sings as campfire songs. Funny–we used to shout out requests: “Play #144!”

With him, I tend to skip over most of the tracks and listen to others over and over. Off that album (“Us”), I tend to listen to only “Steam,” “Kiss That Frog,” and “Digging in the Dirt,” which is very dark (and not surprisingly my favorite Peter Gabriel song).

There is a silver lining to the devaluing of Western currencies. If it gets more expensive to produce goods in East Asia due to lower ratio of dollar to the Chinese Yuan, manufacturers will have no choice but to produce [some] of their goods in the West. Typically these manufacturers would opt to produce their goods in other parts of the third world but if China has a strong presence those countries, the US might have more competition. If it becomes more expensive to purchase commodities and goods in other parts of the world, we’ll be forced to produce more of our own. (One can hold out hope. 🙂 )

  115. Gay State Girl

I actually don’t think that the lack of assimilation of post 1965 immigrants in comparison to their earlier counterparts has to do with race, but the factthat our society is more lenient about dual identity and because of advanced technology and transportation. Newer immigrants and their decendents are more likely to maintain ties with their native countries because they are simply more accessable. One can skype with their relatives daily, access publications from their native country ad travel back and forth. Had European immigrants from the nineteenth and early twentieth century had such easy access to the old country, and had society been more lenient, I doubt they would have assimilated so well.

In 1854, the only thing Swedish immigrants could do to get in “touch” with their relatives was to stare at the sun, because they all shared the same sun.
