General Tea Banh is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Tea Banh had his first job as primary school teacher in the early 1960s. But political instabilities in Cambodia forced him to join resistance movement, where he commanded platoon, company, and battalion. After the liberation in 1979, Tea Banh had served in various positions in the Kampuchean Revolutionary Army (the predecessor of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces): as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff in 1980, and then as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Defense until 1982. As part of a cabinet reshuffle in 1982, Tea Banh was assigned as the Minister of Post and Telecommunication. He was promoted to a four-star General in 1998 and had served as the Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia ever since. Tea Banh was a key operator in the Win-Win Policy of Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, which had achieved total peace for Cambodia. In the 2013 general election, Tea Banh was elected as the member of the National Assembly, representing Siem Reap province.
