Hiba Tawaji

Born in 1987 in Achrafieh, Beirut, Hiba Tawaji studied Filmmaking at the IESAV school of Saint Joseph University and attracted the limelight as singer, actor and a director.

She was barely 20 when she starred in Mansour al-Rahbani’s musical “3awdat Al-Finiq” in 2007. It was her first stage performance, and she sang “Metl Al-Ri7.” In 2011, she released her first album “La Bidayi W La Nihayi.”

She continued to collaborate with the Rahbanis, and starred in the musical “Don Quixote.” A few months later, she released another album that included the songs she performed in the musical.

Tawaji put out her third album, “Ya Habibi,” in 2014. The album was a great success, selling a large number of copies.

Tawaji has proven herself as director, as well, winning the Best Director Award at the Outbox Film Festival for her short film “The Rope.” She also directed twoof her own music videos for the songs “Al-7elm” and “3al Bal Ya Watanna.”
