Helen joined on 26 March 2000 and left on 16 December 2005.
Helen was an extremely capable doctor and well-liked by her patients and colleagues. But despite being strong and confident, she sometimes found it hard to show her feelings.
Helen was widowed in 2002 when her husband, Phil, was killed in a car crash. At the time, she'd been in bed with Marc. The accident left her wracked with guilt but she later discovered that Phil had had a secret second family.
Years later, Helen and Marc set up Best Practice together and started a proper relationship. But Helen claimed she wasn't in love with him and Marc left to build orphanages in Kosovo.
Helen then started a relationship with Jack and he proposed to her. However, tragedy struck when Jack died at the hands of his ex-wife. Helen was left devastated.
In November 2005, Marc returned with a new fiancé in tow. But Helen and he soon realised they were still in love. Marc swept her off her feet in true "Officer and a Gentleman" style and they left to begin a new life together.
