Theresa Christine Benitez-dela Torre

Ms. Theresa “Techie” Christine Benitez-dela Torre is Director of The Center for Education Access and Development (CEAD), a resource and development center for the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde envisioned to take a leadership role in developing new grounds and initiatives that benefits Deaf people through advocacy, research, training & development, and policy change through education. She incorporates into her expertise over ten years of experience a guidance counselor for the deaf at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, and as a coordinator of deaf counselors and para-counselors at the Counseling Resource Unit for Deaf Esteem and Formation, a counseling and resource unit she co-developed. Ms. de la Torre was appointed Director of the School of Special Studies (SSS) from 2000-2002, and Dean of the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) from 2002-2009, during which she also served a concurrent position as Director of the Philippines chapter of the Postsecondary Education Network International (PEN-International). Ms. de la Torre has a Master’s in Education and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Development Studies.
