Rumours steal the limelight
TNN | May 16, 2016, 08.36 AM ISTAmit Shah was the centre of all attention at the inauguration of the BJP-organised Karnavati Premiere League. Except for Shah's passing mention of Anandiben in his speech, no Gujarat or Ahmedabab BJP leader mentioned the chief minister at the event.
State BJP president Vijay Rupani and Ahmedabad city president of the party, Jagdish Panchal, also did not mention the CM. This became a topic of discussion among BJP workers present at the event.
BJP workers shouted from the stage: "Amitbhai tum aage badho, hum tumhare sath hai (Amitbhai go ahead; we are with you). This was interpreted by many as supporting rumours about Shah replacing Anandiben as Gujarat chief minister.
