- BATSMENRMB4s6sSR33.2 Rogers has showed immaculate judgement outside off. Ironically, he chases this one. Back of a length and outside off with some testing extra lift. Rogers pushes away from the body and manages an outside edge. The second grab does it for Cook at first slip. He juggles over his head before pouching it. England have finally broken the strong opening stand.. 110/145.1 tossed up, Warner pushes forward - and nicks it to slip! Just enough turn for Moeen and he's got him, again Warner misses out on a hundred in England. Regulation catch for the slipper Lyth 161/2121.1 Smith back away, opens up his stance to thrash through point - and gets a thick bottom edge on to his stumps! Relief for England, after a full day of bowling at Smith, this time he won't take it on to a double but it has been another fine effort by the Australia captain in waiting 467/854.4 Faint nick and that's snaffled by Buttler. Clarke has been given out caught behind by Kumar Dharmasena. He chats with the soon-to-be captain and reviews. Ben Stokes' footing is fine. Hot spot does not pick up anything, RTS, however, picks up a spike. "You can stay with your decision Kumar," says TV umpire S Ravi. Clarke walks off to a rousing ovation. This was a back-of-a-length delivery, which moves away a bit off the seam, and lifts outside off. Clarke fiddles with it and edges it thinly. Clarke departs for 15 in the first innings of his 115th and final Test.. 186/392.6 pinned him, superb inswinger from Stokes! That looked very good and Dharmasena doesn't think long about it... Voges decides to review, however, perhaps more due to the prospect of an Ashes hundred on the horizon than a firm conviction of injustice. Umpire Ravi has a quick look at the replays and decides that was plumb, up goes the finger again and England have their breakthrough on the stroke of the hour 332/497.5 Finally, Finn has his 100th Test wicket. He can celebrate now. It is a legal ball. The extra bounce undid Marsh. Back of a length and climbs outside off, Marsh hangs his bat out, instead of leaving it. He outside-edges it to second slip, where Bell completes an impressive overhead catch 343/5105.3 Nevill has been caught down the leg side. Umpire Dar's finger goes up. Sharp work from Buttler. Dropped a bit short and sliding down leg, Nevill shapes for a pull and does not connect well enough. Gloves it behind 376/6105.5 bowled'em. Johnson gone for a duck. Tossed up, drifts in, straightens past the outside edge to tilt the middle stump back. And that is lunch on the second day. Johnson played down the wrong line and paid the penalty.. 376/7122.6 this ducks in and strikes Starc on the back pad, only Stokes appeals and Dharmasena shakes his head. But England decide to review, probably worth a shout in the circumstances... And yes, it's right on the money, no bat involved and Hawk-Eye has it crashing in to leg stump. More reward for Stokes and Starc's intrepid innings is ended 475/9125.1 Lyth flings to his right from gully and snaps up a good catch. Good length and largely holds its line around a fourth-stump line, Siddle wafts and edges it. Australia have been bowled out for 481 while Finn finishes with three wickets 481/10Extras34 (b 1, lb 24, nb 3, w 6)TOTAL481 all out (125.1 Overs, RR: 3.84)Fall of wickets: 1-110 (CJL Rogers, 33.2 ov), 2-161 (DA Warner, 45.1 ov), 3-186 (MJ Clarke, 54.4 ov), 4-332 (AC Voges, 92.6 ov), 5-343 (MR Marsh, 97.5 ov), 6-376 (PM Nevill, 105.3 ov), 7-376 (MG Johnson, 105.5 ov), 8-467 (SPD Smith, 121.1 ov), 9-475 (MA Starc, 122.6 ov), 10-481 (PM Siddle, 125.1 ov)
- BATSMENRMB4s6sSR12.2 short again and Lyth plops a catch into the hands of mid-on! Oh dear... Chances are fast running out for Lyth to convince, he latched on to what was little more than a long hop but could only spoon it gently into the leg side, where both mid-on and midwicket were waiting. Success for Siddle with only the second ball of his comeback 46/27.1 Cook is bowled. Top, top ball from Lyon. He gives this more air, gets it to drift it, grip in the pitch and turn away past the jittery defence to clip the top of off after pitching on middle and leg. And that is tea 30/123.3 bowled him, clips the off bail with a corking delivery! This has been an exacting spell from Siddle, full of subtlety and skill, he found the perfect length to trouble the top of off, got the ball to hold down the line and beat Bell's defensive push - a real bail-trimmer. Siddle growls in approval and England are three down, looking ever-so-slightly wobbly 60/324.4 beaten playing back to a shortish ball, Marsh and the keeper go up - they're convinced but Dharmasena isn't. Clarke, who also didn't react, decides to go with his players and calls for a review. This is going to be interesting, there's no visible edge but seems to be a sound; Hot Spot shows nothing, but there is a feather on Snicko. Is that conclusive evidence? Umpire Ravi is taking his time... The bat was away from the body, so there's nothing else the sound can be from, so after several replays Ravi eventually decides that the decision can be overturned and Root is out 64/428.3 And has the bouncer done the trick? Yes, Johnson has some part of his heel behind the crease. This one lifts outside off. Bairstow hunts for a pull and flaps it over square leg. Lyon runs across to his left from deep backward square and swallows it. England stumble further to 83 for 5 83/534.1 England seven down. The procession continues. Marsh bangs it outside off, Stokes loads up for a pull but only skews it into the air off a top edge. Nevill back-tracks and takes it with total comfort 92/729.2 Buttler has been sent packing now. The umpires check for a possible no-ball. Lyon's footing is fine. Sharp offbreak, Buttler seeks to drive after pressing forward but the ball rips through the bat-pad gap to hit middle and leg. Three wickets in six overs for Australia. Lyon rides his car through the gate and celebrates..The leg stump is tilted back. 84/648.4 length outside off, Moeen pushes at it and nicks to the keeper! Johnson has cleaned up, two in two balls and Moeen's resistance is also ended 149/1034.5 Broad has nicked off now. Marsh is mobbed by his team-mates. Back of a length and angling away outside off, target locked, edge found, again. Voges dives across to his left from first slip and completes a smart catch 92/848.3 another bumper, Wood takes on the hook... and spoons it to midwicket! That's his merry hit over, done for pace and a top edge looped gently towards the edge of the square. - BATSMENRMB4s6sSR12.1 edged, carries, taken! Lyth's woeful Ashes series comes to an end. Fuller and curls away just a shade outside off, Lyth, who plays back, pokes and feeds an edge to Clarke at second slip 19/176.6 Cook has to wait for his first home Ashes hundred. Loopy legbreak, spins in. Cook bends forward and only manages an inside edge to short leg. Australia's captain-in-waiting dismisses the England captain in his first over 199/625.3 leaps off a length, takes the glove - and Clarke collects a dolly at second slip, Bell is finally taken! Marsh has been all over him, this was another decent ball and Bell couldn't get on top of it, Mitch screams out a vein-pumping celebration 62/236.5 Johnson replaces Siddle and takes down the World No.1 Test batsman. Johnson serves up a quick bouncer, Root aims to pull, is hurried onto the hit and only manages a top edge, which flies to long leg, where the other Mitchell takes a couple of steps back and pouches it. Another England batsman out pulling 99/351.2 nicely bowled, bit of spin and it takes the inside edge, snapped up at short leg! Voges clings on to it after a brief juggle and Bairstow turns for the dressing room, he was playing around his front pad and pushed at it a little stiffly. First success for Lyon, bowling over the wicket to the right-hander 140/451.6 wider, a tempter, turns out of the rough... and taken at slip! Two in the over for Lyon, hastening England towards defeat, he removes Stokes for a duck, trying to drive one that left him, clear deviation off the edge and safely pouched by the captain 140/586.2 pitched up and chipped to the left of mid-off... who takes a low diving catch, Buttler has tossed it away! He slumps over his bat as he realises, excellent take from Starc, tumbling forwards and Marsh has another wicket, he's been very effective here. Two to go 223/883.5 pitched up, Wood is struck on the pads, beaten on the inside, Siddle appeals... but Dharmasena eventually shakes his head. Clarke immediately reviews, think this is going to be close, unless he hit it. Definitely pad first, decides umpire Ravi, and that is going to take leg stump out of the ground - yep, the DRS has done for Wood, three reds and the decision will be overturned. Three more required by Australia 221/7101.4 bit of width, Moeen flashes - and there it is, a thin edge through to the keeper! Siddle finishes with a four-wicket bag (bringing that average back below 30) and Australia win by an innings and 46 runs, though it won't prevent a series defeat 286/1097.2 bowled him, off stump out of the ground! Broad had given up trying to block, left a big gap as he aimed a blow down the ground and Siddle made sure he hit the top of off. Siddle enjoyed that, as did all the Australians in attendance - their team are one wicket away 263/9Extras38 (b 12, lb 18, nb 1, w 7)TOTAL286 all out (f/o) (101.4 Overs, RR: 2.81)Fall of wickets: 1-19 (A Lyth, 12.1 ov), 2-62 (IR Bell, 25.3 ov), 3-99 (JE Root, 36.5 ov), 4-140 (JM Bairstow, 51.2 ov), 5-140 (BA Stokes, 51.6 ov), 6-199 (AN Cook, 76.6 ov), 7-221 (MA Wood, 83.5 ov), 8-223 (JC Buttler, 86.2 ov), 9-263 (SCJ Broad, 97.2 ov), 10-286 (MM Ali, 101.4 ov)
