Peterson said police officials from many Caribbean nations as well as distant countries including Australia, Japan and Chile attended the seminar.
He said the training program included tactics for dealing with terrorist attacks and air or sea hijackings.
Peterson also announced the FBI will hold its annual convention this year in Aruba Aug. 4 to 7.
Aruba, an island of 67,000 people off the north coast of Venezuela, is a former Dutch colony that retains an association with the Netherlands in defense and foreign policy matters. It is scheduled to become fully independent in 1996.
