If you would like to learn or improve your Italian, Bologna is a great place to do it. The city of Bologna is a manageable size and you can see a lot even in a short visit. It is not particularly touristy, but it is lively, thanks to the large number of italian and foreign students at its University which is the oldest in the world. On the other hand, if you feel like getting to know the little secrets and anecdotes of the city and its people, connected to its equally small streets and charachteristic arcades and of course the inhabitants’habits, then you will need to stay longer as time will never be enough…especially since people from Bologna besides being big talkers, will want to know all about you.. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of Bologna’s medieval buildings it is better to find accomodation in the city centre. The station is also in the centre and so, if you feel like having a change and want to visit other famous and beautiful cities like Venice, Florence, Ravenna and Ferrara, all you need is take a train early in the morning and come back in the evening (it will not be more than an hour and a half journay). LEARN ITALIAN IN BOLOGNA isn’t a school in the usual way and doesn’t really want to be one; LEARN ITALIAN IN BOLOGNA simply is a teacher who for about 25 years has spent her time organizing italian courses and teaching at THE DANTE ALIGHIERI SOCIETY of this city. Now she has decided to look after the lovers of the italian language in a more personalized way
