Joel Plaskett Wins Four Music Nova Scotia Awards

Although he was slighted at this year's Polaris Music Prize and didn't win the ECHO Songwriting Prize, either, Joel Plaskett was finally the big winner at this year's Music Nova Scotia Awards.

Although he was slighted at this year's Polaris Music Prize and didn't win the ECHO Songwriting Prize, either, Joel Plaskett was finally the big winner at this year's Music Nova Scotia Awards.

Plaskett took home four awards for this year's triple album, the appropriately titled Three. Plaskett won for pop/rock artists/group recording, album of the year, male artist recording and SOCAN songwriter of the year.

Other Music Nova Scotia Awards winners included Jenn Grant, Dave Carroll and In-Flight Safety.

Plaskett is currently a finalist in the CBC Radio 2 "Great Canadian Song Quest" contest, with his song about the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, and is nominated in four categories for the CBC 3 Bucky Awards.
