Veganism is not limiting. Meat-eaters think we only eat salads.Take away animal flesh and products, and the only other food you can think of is lettuce. Whose diet is limiting?

I really would like people to be aware of Canada’s new e-petitions:

allthecanadianpolitics:

The Canadian Government is now accepting e-petitions (after an NDP MP motion was passed earlier this year), and this matters. Any other petition on the internet has no legal or political mandate. They can easily be ignored.

The difference with these e-petitions is if they can get 100,000 signatures, the government may be forced to have a 1 hour debate in Parliament. Even if they don’t reach this mark, they still will have more importance than any other petition on the internet. The government will also respond to every petition with 500 signatures or more filed within 45 days. These petitions can force the government to consider the topic at hand, and may result in new laws being passed.

If you want the government to seriously change its mind on a topic or look into an issue of concern, Avaaz, Change.org, etc may not work, but if you can get the same support for a government of Canada epetition it can force the government to care.

You can view the epetition site here.

To create an epetition you will need to get it sponsored by your MP, but otherwise the process is simple.

Canada’s first transgender judge was sworn in today in Winnipeg!!!

“Kael is the first self-identified transgender judge in Canada and that is something to be celebrated,” a judge said to a crowd of applause at the swearing-in ceremony. “Kael is a proud member of the Manitoba Métis Nation. His appointment can only serve to strengthen public confidence in the administration of justice in this province.”

“People always think they know other people, but they don’t. Not really. I mean, maybe they know things about them, like they won’t eat doughnuts or they like action movies or whatever. But they don’t know what their friends do in their rooms alone at night or what happened to them when they were kids or if they feel f*cked up and sad for no reason at all.”
