City youngsters represent countries in Euro qualifiers

FROM a Norwich City perspective, the international break kicked off yesterday as a selection of young Canaries pulled on their national colours.

First-team winger Nathan Redmond grabbed an assist after coming on as a second half substitute for England's Under-21s in their 4-0 victory over San Marino.

Redmond set up former City loanee Harry Kane for his hat-trick as Gareth Southgate's men rose to second in their group with the win at the Olympic Stadium.

Harry Toffolo played the whole match for England's Under-19s as they drew 1-1 with Slovenia in Ptuj, with Josh Murphy coming on as a late substitute. In fact, it was Murphy's shot that fell into the path of Lewis Baker, who scored England's solitary goal.

Carlton Morris was an unused substitute for Noel Blake's side.

Ireland's Under-19s kicked off their campaign UEFA European Championship campaign with a 2-0 win over Azerbaijan, and City centre-back Kyle Callan-McFadden played the full match.

Cameron McGeehan skippered Northern Ireland's Under-19s against Belgium, but they unfortunately slipped to a 2-0 defeat in Beringen.
