Kri set for Feb release

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Jan 16, 2018-Upcoming Nepali film Kri, which features Anmol KC and Aditi Budhathoki in the lead roles, is releasing this February.

The film, it has been revealed, revolves around the life of a young army recruit. After his debut performance in 2013’s Hostel, which was a hit, KC has featured in films such as Jerry, Dreams and Gajalu, all of which were box-office hits.

Produced under the banner of Subas Entertainment and Super Kajal Films, Kri is directed by Surendra Poudel and produced jointly by Subas Giri and Bhuwan KC.

Model and actress Aditi Budhathoki, who is debuting in the Nepali film industry with the film, organised a press meet on Sunday, in which she rebutted several allegations made against her. Speaking at the meet, Budhathoki said that stardom of her co-actors or the budget of the film have little to do with the films she wants to feature in.

“When I decided to pick the Kri project, I did it because I liked the script and the team behind the project, not because I was swayed by the stardom of its lead actor Anmol KC,” Budhathoki said. “The film is wonderful,” she added.

“I prefer to work with anybody, new or old. Whether s/he is a ‘star’ or not, that is none of my concern,” Budhathoki reiterated.

Speaking at the press meet, the actress also went on to mention her influences in the Nepali film industry. “I am really influenced by Priyanka Karki and I would love to play opposite to Pradeep Khadka and Aashirman Desraj.”

Budhathoki also announced that she will soon be starring in a Telugu film.

Kri, reportedly one of the biggest budget films in the recent years, will hit theatres nationwide on February 9.
