Catford Stadium redevelopment

Redeveloping Catford Greyhound Stadium

Why is Catford Stadium being redeveloped?

Catford Stadium has been unused for the last ten years. It sits within one of London’s opportunity areas, so its improvement should kickstart even more regeneration in Catford Town Centre.

The publicly owned stadium was released by the Mayor in May 2013. This was part of his work to unlock development on public sector owned land, to increase housing supply and boost jobs and growth.

Work is underway on the site and the project is expected to be completed during 2019.

What will change?

The redevelopment of Catford Stadium would provide:

  • over 1,000 jobs
  • 589 new homes: 113 of these will be affordable rent properties managed by Gallions Housing Association, 60 shared ownership properties and 416 properties for private ownership
  • 508 square metres of retail space
  • 298 square metres of community space

It has an estimated gross development value of £117m.
