侯佑宗 HOU Yu-Tsung 京劇武場藝師 返回

侯佑宗,有臺灣「鼓王」之稱的傑出京劇鼓佬;1909 年出生於河北三河,1992 年逝世於臺北。早年活躍於天津、北平、上海等地,1949 年起定居臺灣。於「陸光國劇隊」司鼓達卅年,並先後任教於中國文化學院、國立藝術學院及國光劇校。1985 年獲第一屆「民族藝術薪傳獎」,1989 年獲選為第一屆「國家重要民族藝術藝師」。

HOU Yu-Tsung (HOU You-Zong) was born in Sanhe, Hebei Province, China on the 24th day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar in 1909. Ho is often called the “King of Drums” in Taiwan because he was one of the most outstanding percussionists performing Beijing opera. He died on March 15, 1992. Early in his career, he was active in Tianjin, Beijing and Shanghai, and moved to Taiwan in 1949. Ho played the clapper drum in the Taiwan Army LuGuang Troupe for three decades and taught at Chinese Culture University, Taipei National University of the Arts and the National Guoguang Opera Academy. He was a winner of the 1st National Folk Art Heritage Awards in 1985 and was elected as one of the 1st National Important Folk Artists in 1989.
