Veronica Falls to guest on new Franz Ferdinand album

Roxanne Clifford will sing on the follow-up to 'Tonight... Franz Ferdinand'

Franz Ferdinand‘s Alex Kapranos has revealed that Veronica Falls frontwoman Roxanne Clifford will guest on their forthcoming new album.

The frontman tweeted that Clifford “sings a little on the new LP” after confirming to a fan that Clifford is the model on the cover of their 2005 single, ‘Do You Want To’.

Franz Ferdinand are set to release their fourth album later this year.

During their live shows in 2012, the band played a number of new songs, including ‘Right Thoughts! Right Words! Right Action!’, ‘Trees & Animals’, ‘Brief Encounters’, ‘Fresh Strawberries’, ‘Universe Expanded’ and ‘Scarlet Blue’.

However, it is not known if these songs will feature on the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Tonight… Franz Ferdinand’.

In December of last year, Franz Ferdinand played their first hometown show in almost four years, marking the 10th birthday of Glaswegian cafe-cum-venue-cum-record shop Mono.

They will be appearing at Coachella Valley Fesival of Music and Arts in April in California and Bestival on the Isle of Wight in September

Veronica Falls recently released their second album ‘Waiting For Something To Happen’. The LP follows their 2011 self-titled debut.
