CELEBRATING 10 YEARS
of Antiquated + Contemporary Art PhotographyFor the past ten years I’ve been so fortunate to curate and design for Plates to Pixels. It has been the formative platform that has led to so many other opportunities for the artists as well as my personal projects. Diffusion and our other publishing, curating, and exhibition projects would not be if it weren’t for Plates to Pixels and the artists I’ve worked with over the years. Truthfully, I never imagined I’d still be updating the site 10 years after we launched but I’m very pleased that we’re still relevant and am so humbled by the support of our viewers. Below you’ll find single images from all our featured artists since the inception and a little bit of our history through our print catalogs, brick and mortar exhibits, eMotion and interview archive. A big thank you to our little community for continually supporting our artists. —Blue Mitchell

Our Mission
Original logo from 2007
Plates to Pixels was formed in 2006 to promote the creation of photography-based fine art and was established by artists, for artists. The name “Plates to Pixels” suggests the evolution of photography from the antiquated processes to the new digital format of pixels. Our mission is to provide exhibition opportunities for emerging and established artists working in the photography arts with an emphasis on pairing antiquated processes and new digital media processes.
Plates to Pixels is published by One Twelve Publishing.
One Twelve Publishing is a Mission. Measured by its products, it is the distributor of art through means that can be considered on their own to be an art form. The publishing company is know internationally for its respected fine art photographic annual Diffusion which focuses on unconventional photographic practices. One Twelve also hosts an online gallery that focuses on bridging the gap between antiquated and contemporary photographic processes called Plates to Pixels.
In April 2015 One Twelve Publishing launched its new monograph series starting with Contact by Jake Shivery.
One Twelve Publishing is located in Portland, Oregon, USA.
