Aggreko
Aggreko is the global leader in modular, mobile power and adjacent products. The company operates from 190 locations in 45 countries globally and employs more than 6,000 people.
In 2014 Aggreko began a technology evaluation project with Bowman, to assess the effectiveness of ETC combined with the Cummins KTA50-G3, the core engine in the Aggreko rental fleet. Initial trials demonstrated a 4% additional power output and 5% improved fuel consumption. Read the press release.
This partnership demonstrates Aggreko’s pursuit of innovation in our product strategy, and ongoing commitment to provide world-leading power solutions to our customers. We are looking forward to partnering with Bowman to further evaluate and develop a high-efficiency rental solution.

Wärtsilä
Wärtsilä is a global provider of power solutions for the power industry, and marine, gas and oil sectors, with customers in over 170 countries. The company is a leader in the energy sector, with a strong focus on engine optimisation and technological innovation.
Wärtsilä began working with Bowman in 2011, to trial the effectiveness of ETC on the company’s gas fueled engines, with the objective of generating additional free power for Wärtsilä power plant customers.
The success of this initial trial led to long-term durability trials in Turkey, where Bowman was able to demonstrate a consistent extra power output of 1.5% on Wärtsilä’s 9MW 34SG engines, significantly accelerating the payback period on an entire power plant.
As a result, Bowman’s ETC system is now available on new Wärtsilä power plant projects, equipped with Wärtsilä 34SG/50SG gas engines, and can also be retrofitted to Wärtsilä liquid fuel engines converted to gas operation.
Cummins
Cummins Inc., a global power leader, is a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service diesel and natural gas engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems.
In January 2015, Cummins Inc and Bowman entered a strategic partnership, working to integrate Bowman’s ETC technology with Cummins’ generator sets. Cummins has previously tested the Bowman technology at its own test facilities in Ramsgate, and reported fuel efficiency improvements ranging from 5-8%.
Further long term trials in Saudi Arabia have delivered significant fuel savings on Cummins’ KTA 50 engines, with both companies now developing global opportunities for wide-scale deployment of the ETC system integrated with Cummins’ engines.
Pacific Energy
Pacific Energy is a power station and energy infrastructure owner and developer. The company owns and operates 22 power generation stations, has a total capacity of over 200MW, and supplies both off-grid and grid-connected power.
Pacific Energy partnered with Bowman Power Group to enhance the competitive value of the company’s offering to its customer base, and has purchased over 100 Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) systems for integration with Cummins gensets.
We are delighted with our partnership with Bowman. The ETC technology has significantly enhanced the fuel efficiency of our power generation offering
Powertron Engineering S.R.L.
Powertron Engineering S.R.L. is an independent power producer (IPP) and service organisation which works with power plant customers in Italy.
The company actively seeks new and innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of their power plants, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance competitive advantage in the market.
Powertron has been working with Bowman Power Group since 2013, and integrates Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) technology with the company’s power solution offer to the market. Read a case study.
The results of implementing Bowman’s ETC technology has exceeded our expectations, and, as a result of the pilot, we plan to integrate more systems on our Cummins gensets

Schnell Motoren AG
Schnell Motoren AG in Germany have sold hundreds of highly efficient dual fuel CHP units by integrating Bowman’s ETC technology with a Scania DC12 diesel engine, to produce a unit with over 48% electrical efficiency – widely considered to be the highest efficiency achieved in this type of application.
Adding the Bowman ETC system to our 6-cylinder dual fuel CHP unit was an important factor that enabled us to achieve market-leading efficiency of 48.3%, and has contributed significantly to our rapid growth in this market over the last few years
Sewatama
Sewatama is a leading Indonesian power rental provider and IPP, with a total installed capacity of over 1.1GW.
The company began working with Bowman in 2014, to trial the ETC system on diesel fueled Caterpillar engines, in an effort to increase overall fleet fuel efficiency and meet contractual targets as set by their customer, the state utility.
Prior to the trial the company was averaging fuel consumption at 2.7% above the target threshold and exceeding penalty thresholds. The ETC system out-performed expectation, delivering 7% fuel savings and demonstrated to Sewatama that the fleet performance could be significantly improved, avoiding penalties and strengthening the company’s competitive advantage in the interim power projects market.
Burkhardt
Burkhardt is a renewable energy solution provider based in Germany.
The company specialises in wood gasification power systems which utilise highly efficient MAN reciprocating engines equipped with Bowman’s ETC system to deliver heat and electrical power for its customers.
