SCERA Cinema Classics Series to show 'Mackenna's Gold'

SCERA’s Cinema Classics Series will show 1969 action film "Mackenna's Gold," starring Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif and Telly Savalas, on Tuesday.

Showing next on SCERA‘s Cinema Classics Series is “Mackenna’s Gold,” a 1969 action movie starring Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif and Telly Savalas.

“Mackenna’s Gold” tells the story of an outlaw who kidnaps a marshal with a map showing the way to a gold fortune hidden in Indian lands. As the outlaw makes his way toward the treasure, he encounters others also seeking the gold, as well as the Apache, who wish preserve its secret location.

The film is not rated, and its runtime is 128 minutes. Those who attend the screening will receive a free small bag of popcorn, according to the SCERA.

The Cinema Classics Series aims to show a variety of favorite films from the past, including musicals, comedies, romances, Westerns, war epics and dramas.

The movie will show on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the SCERA Center for the Arts’ Clarke Grand Theatre at 745 S. State Str. in Orem. Admission costs $2 per person for adults, and no children are allowed. Tickets will be available at the door 30 minutes before the show begins.
