As part of security measures, the Jawaharlal Stadium in Kochi will only be open to 29,000 viewers instead of the stadium’s capacity of 41,000 for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to begin on October 6.
The stadium is set to host big names in football like Spain, Niger, North Korea and Brazil in the group stages of U-17 World Cup. Spain has, in fact, have even declared that they will win the World Cup.
The organisers had earlier announced that they would allow 41,000 people to watch the matches but the number of viewers were cut off for security reasons. The stadia will have access to only 32,000 people, including 29,000 spectators and security personnel. Fifa ticket sales have also been sold according to that.
The Jawaharlal Nehru stadium will host six group games in addition to a pre-quarterfinal and a quarterfinal match.
