Commissioner Robyn A. Crittenden

Commissioner CrittendenAs Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Human Services, Robyn A. Crittenden oversees a $1.8 billion budget and nearly 9,000 employees working to strengthen Georgia families and protect vulnerable children and adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Prior to her appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to lead the Department of Human Services in July 2015, Commissioner Crittenden served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Georgia Student Finance Commission where she promoted and provided Georgians with increased access to education beyond high school. Commissioner Crittenden has also served as the General Counsel at Morehouse College, the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at the Georgia Student Finance Commission and the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Legal Affairs-Contracts for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.  She was also an Assistant County Attorney in DeKalb County and an Associate at the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy.

Commissioner Crittenden received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan School of Law.

Robyn and her daughter reside in Tucker, Georgia.
