According to a Twitter post from Argentine goalkeeper Elisabeth Minning from Wednesday, the women’s national team has gone on strike, citing issues with payments, travel conditions and training conditions.

“First, we want to emphasize that the stipend owed to the players who compose the preliminary roster presented by Mr. Carlos Borrello, with an eye to the Copa America, has not been paid,” according to a translation of the statement. “We have managed this situation in the best manner and with the best predisposition possible, remaining open to dialogue and attending the corresponding training sessions, but we have not received the same treatment, and thus we have been obligated to cease attending practices.”

According to a report from the Equalizer, players are paid as low as $8.50 (150 pesos) per training session. Additionally, for an Aug. 30 friendly against Uruguay, no hotel was provided for the team as they traveled from 4 to 9  a.m. and slept on the bus.
