Big Boy Restaurant gets new name

DANVILLE — Breakfasts and other food favorites at Big Boy Restaurant will be staying, but the name of the restaurant isn’t.

A restaurant employee Thursday said the restaurant no longer has a contract with Big Boy and the owners are opening their own restaurant at 369 Lynch Rd.

The name of the restaurant will now be Border Cafe.

Danville had the only Big Boy Restaurant location in Illinois. They are also located in California, Michigan, North Dakota and Ohio.

The chain restaurant is known for its family-friendly diners serving breakfast, burgers and other comfort food.
