Anglo-American stage and film actor Charles Laughton starred in The Old Dark House and Mutiny on the Bounty. He also directed The Night of the Hunter.

Synopsis

Actor Charles Laughton was born on July 1, 1899, in Yorkshire, England. In 1933, he won an Academy Award for The Private Life of Henry the VII. During his career, he held diverse roles in such films as The Old Dark House and Mutiny on the Bounty. His directorial work included the play The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and the film The Night of the Hunter. He died on December 15, 1962, in Hollywood, California.
