The station is part of a $176.4 million, 3.5-acre regional transportation center linking Metro's rail and bus lines with commuter train service between Fredericksburg, Va., and Washington. Along with the recently completed extension of permanent car-pool lanes on Interstate 95 south from Springfield into Prince William County, officials say, the new Metro station will give commuters along the growing, congested corridor another answer to the thorny question of how to get from Point A to Point B.
