Pop star Lily Allen has revealed she has been sexually harassed – and indicated she is taking action against her tormentor.

Speaking in a podcast and referring to the Harvey Weinstein scandal, she said: ‘I’ve been harassed. I can’t talk too much for legal reasons but I’m in the process of dealing with something.’

The singer – who has been signed to several top record labels since her first hit Smile was released back in 2006 – revealed: ‘What I’ve found quite interesting is people suggesting that there’s something to be gained from wanting to talk about these things. Actually I think all that most women want is to just offload it.

‘To be, like, “You know, I don’t want to carry this around with me any more.” It doesn’t go away.

‘Suddenly, finally, I feel like I can get this a*******’s name out of my mouth and out of my head. I don’t want money. If it was about that then I would sue in the civil courts and would attach a non-disclosure agreement to it. That’s not what I want.’

She did not reveal whether she has made a complaint to police or taken other action.

Lily, 32, is signed to the Warner Bros label, and will release her fourth album, No Shame, in June. She is separated from her builder husband Sam Cooper, father of her two children, and is now dating rapper and MC Meridian Dan.

In 2016 she hired a woman, Sarah Gates of IE Music, to be her manager. Sarah will oversee Lily’s international tour, which starts in Paris tomorrow.

Last night Lily’s representative would not elaborate or comment further on her revelation, made to radio presenter James O’Brien on his Unfiltered podcast.

Gyles offers Judi bear's necessities

Dame Judi Dench has given her beloved childhood teddy bear to Gyles Brandreth.

Last week Dame Judi took ‘Bear’ to Yorkshire’s Newby Hall, home to Gyles’s collection of 1,000 valuable teddies, which includes the original Paddington.

‘Bear was my beloved childhood companion and went everywhere with me,’ said Judi, 82.

‘He’s on his spring break!’ said Gyles, 70, who is still chuckling about how his April Fool last week – when he claimed he had been asked by Prince Harry to organise a teddy bears’ picnic for Meghan Markle – went viral.

‘I know Harry has a fondness for teddy bears. It is a nice idea, isn’t it? he said.
