Big names from the sports and entertainment worlds gathered recently in Hollywood to celebrate and pay homage to sporting superstars of 2006. Among them was Team Ossur's Sarah Reinertsen, voted Best Female Athlete with a Disability. Congratulations Sarah - you rock!

Sarah Reinertsen - Ironman 2005Sarah became the world?s first female amputee to complete the formidable Hawaii Ironman in 2005. Achieving things which might not at first seem possible she has taken time along the way to help others envisage and realize their true potential. An exemplary member of Team Ossur, Sarah is also a proud spokesperson and advocate of the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Hosted memorably by last year?s winner, the record-breaking cyclist Lance Armstrong, America?s most prestigious sports industry awards were presented on July 12th and broadcast on television on the 16th. As well as his presenting role - the first time this has been undertaken by an athlete - Lance picked up the award for Best Male Athlete for the fourth consecutive year!

A record 12.1 million votes were cast by fans voting online, fans who, for the third year running determined who the final winners were. The Arthur Ashe Courage Award was presented to two young women representing a growing number of brave, young female athletes who play in the organized soccer leagues in post-Taliban Afghanistan.
