The special  two hour premiere of Camelot on Friday averaged 1.125 million viewers in its initial telecast and 1.573 for the night with the encore telecast.  It was the highest-rated and most-watched premiere for an original series on Starz.  Not bad considering the first hour already had aired as a sneak preview after the finale of  Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena set the previous mark with 1.098 million viewers in the first telecast of its premiere.

Update: Camelot scored a 0.5 rating with adults 18-49 in its premiere telecast, bettering Syfy’s Merlin in the battle for medieval adults 18-49 supremacy. Merlin averaged a 0.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.
