12/20/16 - 2016 ALL-MAC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Running Back - Joel Bouagnon, Northern Illinois,...Bouagnon (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Christian HS) was the workhorse of the Huskie backfield with 885 yards on 182 carries for a 4.9 yards per carry average with eight rushing touchdowns. He caught a career-best 17 passes for 157 yards and was a major factor as a blocker. He had three 100-yard rushing games in 2016 and eight for his career. He ranks 11th in rushing all-time at NIU with 2,911 yards. He collected all-league honors for the second straight season. - Northern Illinois Football
11/25/16 - Joel Bouagnon ran for two touchdowns, Daniel Santacaterina and Jordan Huff each ran for scores, and Northern Illinois beat Kent State 31-21 in Friday's season finale for both teams. Santacaterina was 13 of 23 for 258 yards passing with an interception for the Huskies (5-7, 5-3), who won't win the Mid-American Conference's West Division for the first time in six seasons. Santacaterina scored on a 3-yard run and Huff's 1-yard TD run in the third quarter put the Huskies up 14-7. Christian Hagan kicked a go-ahead 34-yard field goal in the third quarter. Bouagnon gained 133 yards on 29 carries and scored fourth-quarter TDs on 9- and 2-yard runs. A NIU fumble set up George Bollas' 85-yard second-quarter TD run, which tied it at 7. Bollas hit Ernest Calhoun on a 57-yard TD pass after Kent State missed two field goal tries, and found Brice Fackler on a 10-yarder in the fourth quarter. 11/09/16 - NOV 7 MAC WEST CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Northern Illinois RB Joel Bouagnon...Northern Illinois senior running back Joel Bouagnon (Aurora, Ill.) scored five rushing touchdowns, the most by a Huskie since 2005 and tied for the second-most all-time, to power NIU past Bowling Green last Wednesday. Bouagnon ran for 134 yards on 26 carries to average 5.2 yards per rush, and scored on TD runs of 14, 1, 2, 15 and 6 yards. He also caught two passes for 31 yards to total 165 all-purpose yards. Bouagnon also moved into seventh place on the NIU career chart for touchdowns scored with 32. - MAC Football
11/02/16 - Joel Bouagnon set a career-high with five rushing touchdowns and Northern Illinois beat Bowling Green 45-20 on Tuesday night in a rematch of the last three Mid-American Conference championship games. Northern Illinois (3-6, 3-2) took a 7-0 lead on its first possession after Bouagnon scored on a 14-yard run. He added a short scoring run on the Huskies' second drive and Christian Hagan kicked a 41-yard field goal early in the second quarter for a 17-7 lead. Northern Illinois safety Jackson Abresch intercepted a pass on a Bowling Green fake punt and Bouagnon capped a 24-yard drive with a 2-yard TD to make it 31-13. Bouagnon also had a 15-yard touchdown late in the third and a 6-yarder with 1:40 left. Bouagnon carried it 26 times for 134 yards and Anthony Maddie added 93 yards and one touchdown for Northern Illinois, which gained 286 yards on the ground.
