Xavier Rhodes injury: Vikings CB could miss a few weeks after hurting ankle

An ankle sprain could keep Rhodes out of the lineup for a few weeks.

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes could miss up to a few weeks with an ankle injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rhodes injured his ankle in Minnesota's Week 14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He left the game in the fourth quarter and did not return. It's unclear when exactly Rhodes will be able to return.

As a rookie, Rhodes has dealt with a few different minor injuries. He was starting to improve late in the season. A first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Florida State, Rhodes has the chance to develop into one of the best cornerbacks in his draft class.

However, with the Vikings sitting at 3-9-1, he may not be rushed back into action. The Vikings also lost Adrian Peterson to an injury on Sunday as well, so a bad season has gotten worse in Minnesota.
