What materials should my business/organization be recycling?
The following materials are recyclable and must be segregated from your regular solid waste: aluminum; corrugated cardboard; newspaper; high density polyethylene (HDPE) ex: plastic milk containers; office paper; polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic soft drink containers; low density polyethylene (LDPE); Polstyrene; steel, and tin coated steel cans.

My landlord supplies the waste disposal under the terms of our lease agreement. Is he/she responsible for the recycling also?

 All organizations with 50 or more employees are required by Commercial Recycling Regulations to complete an Annual Recycling Report.

Does recycling help the environment?
While every bit helps and an interest in recycling makes for a healthier planet, you can go a step beyond by reducing your level of your consumption in the first place.  Also buy items that have less packaging, plastics with a "1" or "2" label (the most commonly accepted recyclable plastics) and "green" or local products because they embody less energy in their production, transportation and disposal.
