Overview

Tuskegee University (the University) is committed to maintaining and strengthening a fair and respectful environment for living, working, and studying. In compliance with federal and state law and University policy, the University does not tolerate gender-based discrimination or harassment, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual violence and sexual misconduct. 


Notice of Non-Discrimination 

As a recipient of federal funds, Tuskegee University is required to comply with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (“Title IX”), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs or activities, admissions, and employment. Title IX states that:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Questions regarding the application of Title IX may be referred to Tuskegee University’s Title IX Coordinator or to the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
