‘Goosebumps’ Sequel Now Titled ‘Haunted Halloween’

Sony continues to change their mind in regards to the title of their Goosebumps sequel, which originally titled Slappy Halloween, a super fun play on words. Now, it’s been revealed at CinemaCon that the official title is now Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween.

Also, while Jack Black is nowhere to be seen in the trailer, some reports indicate that he’s voicing Slappy, although this has not been confirmed. Black, of course, played author R.L. Stine in the first Goosebumps adaptation.

The cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey (“The Goldbergs”), Ken Jeong (Hangover), Chris Parnell (Anchorman), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Ben O’Brien (Manchester by the Sea), Caleel Harris (“Castle Rock”), and Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT). Peyton Wich, who played the bully Troy in “Stranger Things” and also starred in “Mr. Mercedes,” also joins the cast.

Plot details are currently unknown, but it’s been rumored to follow three who friends must stop Slappy the dummy from starting the Halloween apocalypse.

Ari Sandel is directing the sequel set to release on Oct. 12, 2018.
