Based on the report of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting District Director, Police Senior Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar to National Capital Region Police Office Director PCSupt Oscar Albayalde,five drug suspects of Batasan Police Station (PS-6), QCPD, were slain and  one  woundedat dawn today in a shootout with operatives of PS-6 inKampo, Payatas, Quezon City.

 

PSSuptEleazar identified the wounded suspect as Jusrel Harold Arevalo, 29 y/o a resident of BatasanHills .One of the five slain suspects was positively identified as Cherwen Polo 38, y/o, a resident of Lower SampaguitaExtentionBrgy. Payatas. Three others were identified only by their aliases:“BLINK” about 20-25 y/o, “Ramboo”about 30-35 y/o, “Chocoy” 30-35 y/o a resident of 216 Everlasting st.Payatas.  One male suspect between 20-25 y/o, 5’4’ in height, slim built and fair complexion, clad in blue t-shirt and camouflage short is still unidentified.

 

The report showed that at about 12:17 AM, joint Station Anti-illegal Drugs (SAID) and follow-up personnel of the police station conducted a buy bust operationagainst thesuspects. Realizing the presence of the police, the suspects fired at them and the operatives retaliated, resulting in the neutralization of five and wounding of one.

Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber38 pistol with 5 rounds, 3caliber .45 pistols, 2 plastic sachets of shabu, one fired caliber .45 cartridge case, two fired M-16 cartridge cases, and one empty caliber .45 magazine.

 

PSSuptEleazarcommended the operatives for the operation and reiterated his warning to drug suspects to peacefully surrender to police, instead of firing on them and suffering the same fate, bringing woe, shame, and economic distress to their families..
