Timeline

Be aware of application deadlines. If you're required to take an English language proficiency test, please make sure you do so well before your application is due. Your application will not be reviewed until all materials are received and may be withdrawn if still incomplete after the application deadline.

International Academic Records

Regardless of citizenship, language or home country, if you attended a post-secondary institution outside of the United States, you must have your academic records evaluated by a the World Education Services, Inc (WES). When selecting the type of evaluation, please select the WES iCAP Course by Course Evaluation. This type of evaluation is required by SOPHAS and the School of Public Health. SOPHAS strongly encourages applicants to first create the SOPHAS application. Once you have your 10 digit SOPHAS ID, you are able to use the WES-SOPHAS application form.

WES also offers a 10% discount for students having records evaluated for the SOPHAS application.

You may contact WES at:

Bowling Green Station
PO Box 5087
New York, NY 10274 USA
212-966-6311

Records from English-speaking Canada

If you received a degree from a college or university in English-speaking Canada, please have your institution submit transcripts directly to SOPHAS.

Timeline

Be aware of application deadlines. If you're required to have your academic records evaluated, we strongly encourage you to start this process as early as possible. It can be a lengthy process and in most cases, our programs WILL NOT review your application without evaluated international academic records. Credentials evaluations, as with all application requirements, are due by the application deadline.

Student Visas

All admitted international students who plan to attend the Bloomberg School are required to attend in F-1 or J-1 status (unless you are already in possession of an immigration status in which studying is permissible). This process will not begin until you are formally admitted.

The Office of International Services will contact admitted international students who have completed their enrollment form in the spring. Additional instructions will be provided then.
