SAM hosted an international conference on "Impact of geopolitical changes on the future of the Turkic Council"

On 10 November 2017, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) has held an international conference titled "Impact of geopolitical changes on the future of the Turkic Council" dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Center.

The conference started with the opening remarks delivered by Arastu Habibbayli, Deputy head of Foreign Policy department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ramil Hasanov, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Mammadov, Head of Strategic Research Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ciydem Tenker Köksal, Secretary for Academic and Research Affairs of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Каzbek Issayev, Deputy director of National institute for strategic studies of the Kyrgyz Republic Baidoletov Nuradil.

During the panel on "The emerging opportunities and challenges for the Turkic Council" moderated by SAM’s deputy director Gulshan Pashayeva was followed by the speeches delivered by Gurshad Melih Sariarslan, Deputy secretary of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic - Speaking Countries, Sevinj Dadashzade, Secretary of the International Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage of Azerbaijan, Mahir Humbatov, SAM’s Research fellow, Kazim Sari, Associate Professor and Chair of Industrial Engineering Department at Beykent University, Timur Kozyrev, expert of the International Turkic Academy and Turkic Council’s representative Pelin Musabey Baki.
