Tom Holland just revealed the full title of Spider-man 2

Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Tom Holland is bad at keeping secrets. In fact, throughout the Avengers: Infinity War press tour, Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch was in charge of keeping the 22-year-old’s mouth shut as he fell time and time again into the press’ traps. Magic was the only thing that could keep him from blurting out spoilers.

Holland’s blabber mouth is so well-known, Marvel seems to have given the friendly neighborhood spider-actor the go-ahead to lean right into the joke and “accidentally” reveal major news. The latest: the subtitle for what we’ve been calling Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.

The full title is Spider-Man: Far From Home, which Holland revealed while telling his Instagram followers that there was absolutely no news to share on the sequel front. In fact, he just got the script. BAM.

Though — SPOILERS — Spider-Man disappeared into dust at the end of Infinity War, Avengers 4 is expected to resurrect Peter Parker so that he can actually star in Spider-Man: Far From Home. How it’ll happen is anyone’s guess (although we have a theory).

We don’t know too much about the Marvel-produced Sony-backed sequel. In May, word leaked that Jake Gyllenhaal — who almost subbed in for Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 — was in talks to play Mysterio, a special effects designer and stuntman who seeks revenge Phantom of the Opera style. Perhaps he works... far from Peter’s home? Like, uh, Staten Island?

That’s the big question: where might “far from home” be? After dropping the news, fans immediately speculated a Eurotrip for Mr. Parker. Maybe after a second round with Thanos he’ll still be stuck on some planet in the middle of the universe, figuring out how to get back to Queens? Perhaps it’s just a pun on Homecoming! Or maybe Holland’s pranking us hard because we’re hungry for details.

Well, wherever the world swings him, we’ll be there. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5, 2019.
