In 1771 twelve townlands were severed from the parish of Loughgilly and formed into the parish of Forkill and in 1773 another eleven townlands which previously belonged to the parish of Killevy were added. The village of Forkill is in the townland of SHEAN [(i) nOircel c.1350].
