The Light Rail is part of a $650 million program to revitalise Newcastle’s city centre. The Newcastle Urban Transformation and Transport Program will focus on the city and the waterfront, and deliver better transport connections.
Major construction of the light rail is expected to continue until 2019, when the service will begin operating.
