Real Madrid lands center Kuzmic

Real Madrid bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Ognjen Kuzmic to a two-year deal. Kuzmic (2.13 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, where he averaged 9.4 points and 7.0 rebounds in 30 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. Kuzmic ranked third in the league in offensive rebounds per game (2.7) and helped Zvezda win every available domestic title: the Serbian Radivoj Korac Cup, Serbian League and Adriatic League trophies. He was chosen as EuroLeague MVP for January 2017 after averaging 11.6 points, 8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and a performance index rating of 17.8 in wins against Zalgiris Kaunas, Fenerbahce Istanbul, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz and Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens. Kuzmic started his career with Borac Nektar Banja Luka of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also played for UU-Korihait Uusikaupunki and Lapuan Korokobrat of Finland, Celik Zenica of Bosnia, Clinicas Rincon and Joventut Badalona of Spain, Golden State of the NBA, Santa Cruz of the D-League and Panathinaikos of Greece. He helped Santa Cruz win the D-League title in 2015 and lifted the Greek Cup trophy with Panathinaikos in 2016. Kuzmic is also a member of the Serbian national team.
