Dallas Fuel DPS player EFFECT states he will not play in Stage Four

After an extended absence for most of Stage Three, his second absence of the season, Hyeong “EFFECT” Hwang has stated he will not be playing in Stage Four of the Overwatch League.

Reddit user IceQj posted a screenshot from EFFECT’s Twitch stream chat, with messages from EFFECT reading, “and I don’t go in Stage 4 … cuz hurt.”

Overwatch Wire reached out to the Dallas Fuel to confirm if EFFECT would be absent from the Fuel’s line-up for Stage Four. Dallas Fuel responded as follows:

The staff and ownership at the Fuel have been in regular contact with Effect during his time in Korea. As Dallas Fuel owner Mike Rufail said earlier this week, this organization puts a priority on the mental health of all its players and staff, and will continue to do so as Effect rests.

If EFFECT does heal from his ailments, whether they be mental or physical, he may play again before the season is over. However, with Stage Four being the final stage before Season Playoffs, there is a fair chance that EFFECT will now not play again until Season Two.
